The Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) is input from the people of the Army to Army leadership. It’s a unique Army process that allows Soldiers and families say what’s working, what isn’t and what could work. Many AFAP improvements impact quality of life for all services.

Thinking About Becoming an AFAP Delegate? If you are a Soldier, retiree, civilian, family member–active, guard or reserve–you can be a delegate! Delegates represent the Army Family, review and prioritize all submitted issues, select three most impor-tant issues and recommend solutions.

Army Volunteer Corps ProgramAt its heart, AVC transforms communities and impacts people.

There are many reasons to be a volunteer:• To make new friends

• Help others• Serve the community• Refresh skills before re-entering the job market• Get out of the house• Develop confidence• Share talent• Gain work experience• Explore an activity you would like to pursue

Whatever the reason, volunteers do make an impact. To become a volunteer, please contact the AVC Manager, at

SOS Monthly Night Out Call for upcoming dates

Take time out! Surround yourself with family and friends to enjoy a night out of laughter and fellowship with other Survivor Families. Children are always welcome.

2nd Annual Survivor Services Day June 2 / 8 am–2 pm

Survivor Services Day is a day to honor and recognize Survivors of our Fallen Soldiers. This is a day to commemorate the ultimate sacrifices of our Soldiers and fulfilling the

Army Family Covenant. As stated by our Secretary and Chief of Staff of the Army, “Never before in the history of our Army have we asked so much of our Families. They are serving side-by-side with our Soldiers, enduring their hardships and providing the unconditional love and support that truly make our Army strong. The Army Family Covenant pledges

our commitment to support Soldiers and their Families and resource programs to provide them a quality of life commensurate with their service.”

Over 34 Fort Belvoir Agencies and Non-Governmental Agencies will be available to answer questions from Survivor Families regarding Survivor benefits and entitlements.

Continental Breakfast and Lunch will be provided. Child care is available with pre-registration. Open to all Survivor Families, including Retiree/Veteran Survivors

and general community, and Fort Belvoir and MWR customers.
