Come to one of our rehearsals and see what it can do for you! For more information on any of these groups, please contact Sandra at [email protected] or at 347-560-1793.

All choirs will resume rehearsals on Tuesday, September 19

th in the church except for the Youth Choir. The Youth

Choir will resume rehearsals on Tuesday, September 26

th.

Note – there are no fees to join any of the choirs.

Youth Choir (Grades 3+) (beginning 9/26)

The Teen Choir, a new group, will sing on the first Satur-day of the month at the 5:00 p.m. Vigil Mass; they will also sing at other Parish celebrations, including Christmas and Easter.

Youth Ensemble (students proficient on all instruments)

This ensemble of young musicians participates at the two monthly Family Masses, Christmas and Easter Masses. Rehearsals are on Sundays before Mass with an occasional rehearsal during the week. New and returning members should contact Sandra prior to the first rehearsal.

Handbell Choir (children and adults) (beginning 9/19)

SEPTEMBER 17, 2017

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

Those who contribute to the upkeep of the parish by means of the envelope system will notice in the most recent mailing of envelopes that there is one no longer appearing. It is the Parking Lot Envelope. There is a good reason for its disappearance.

I am happy to announce that due to the generous contributions via that envelope and other sources, the parking lot loan of $590,189 has been paid off.

Thanks are due to all who pitched in over the past three years to bring the loan debt down to zero.

But even in light of this grateful good news we see that the sidewalks on the property continue to deteriorate. We have been taking measures since this problem appeared. What has become ever more obvious with the passage of time continues to take time to resolve; what is readily apparent cannot be solved in a day.

It must be understood that examination, analysis, consultation and collaboration to resolve any issue is of necessity time consuming. The sidewalk situation is no exception to this rule.

We continue to make progress on this front with confidence that in due course our sidewalks will be restored to their pristine state with the original expectation of permanence.

All the same, that goal does not diminish the relief of putting our parking lot drive in park.

Father Travers
