P&C News
EASTER RAFFLE
A reminder that all families have been sent a book of
tickets to support our Easter Raffle Fundraiser. We are
also asking for donations of Easter Eggs and baskets/
Easter Bags that can be used for the hampers. These
donations can be left in the Office in the basket provided
by Friday 29th March to ensure we have time to wrap
etc. If you need more raffle tickets to sell, these will be
in the Office as well. Please return all sold and unsold
tickets to the school by Wednesday 3rd April. We truly
appreciate your help and thank you in advance for all of
the goodies you will donate!
CANTEEN
Helpers are needed to start filling Friday’s in Term 2.
Please ring Karen on 0408 978 159 If you are able to help
out.

If anyone has any ‘business’ they would like discussed at a
P&C meeting please inform the President, Lindsay, on
0428427803, email [email protected]. or myself via
email by the Friday before a meeting. This will enable us
to inform other parents through the Newsletter and
access any information so an informed decision can be
made.

SUPPORTING THE SCHOOL
A big thank you to the P&C for funds to help the students
of our school!
So far this year funds have been allocated to:
Purchase 10 Ipads and charger. Subsidizing costs for Star Struck Choir and Dance
groups. Subsidising students who make it to State level in
sport. Thank you! Thank you for being partners in your child’s learning! Sharon Palmer.

Dear Largs Public School Staff, Students and Families,
We would like to warmly invite your school community to the
Wallalong Preschool 20th Birthday Celebrations and Open Day on
April 6th.
It will be a special day celebrating the last 20 years of our
community preschool with free activities for the kids (including
face painting), story time and of course CAKE! There will also
be tea/coffee, cold drinks and snow cones available for
purchase.

Merit Awards
Congratulations to

Homework In addition to set Home Reading for K-6, the following assignments are suggestions for parents who want to help their children with the skills of planning, organisation, presentation and commitment, especially in preparation for High School.
Write4fun school writing competition. For students K-6. Go to write4fun.net for more details. Competition closes March 31.
CWA Country of Study Competition Yr 3-6 Papua New Guinea Students can produce a Power Point presentation, make a travel Journal (in an exercise book) or design a postcard. Please hand in to classroom teacher by 3rd May.
NAPLAN Practice Students in Years 3&5 will be sitting NAPLAN tests early next Term. (See notes sent home) If you would like to help them prepare for this testing there are practice tests available at www.nap.edu.au and many practice books are available for purchase from a variety of shops. I have a few copies of previous tests if you would like one. As this testing is now online, it would also be beneficial for your child to log onto Typing Tournament at home for extra practice.
Harmony Day Poster and Song Writing Competition Open to all students K-6. Entry forms and instructions available at: www.movingforwardtogether.org.au Entries close Friday April 12.
Times Tables Any student who can learn their times tables (up to 10x) and recite them to me in under 20 seconds will get a Largs Card.
