MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

What a challenging time we are all experiencing. Never have we seen such changes internationally, nationally and locally.

As you would be aware through the extensive media coverage regarding the virus and its impact on schools, we are still operational. Although advice has been issued for students to stay home where possible, we know this is not possible for everyone and our doors are open for those who require it.

Through our Facebook account, school app and the school website, we will continue to provide updates regarding any changes to the current situation. As stated on these platforms, all school based events and additional activities are currently postponed or cancelled.

In recent days we have provided information regarding ways to access online learning. Please contact the school if you have questions or queries regarding this. As you can imagine, providing this information to the families of 563 students is an enormous task.

Further to that, I would like to sincerely thank the staff at WWSPS for their ongoing commitment to providing a functional school and learning programs in such trying times. Many are away from their own family members to provide operating classrooms and schoolwork for yours. I am extremely proud and privileged to be the principal of a school with such caring and dedicated staff.

On a personal note, please look after yourselves and heed the advice provided by the government and health officials. Our kids and our community are our greatest resource – we look forward to getting things back on track at WWS soon.

SCHOOL BANKING NOTICE

As mentioned in last week’s newsletter the Commonwealth Bank School Banking program will be unavailable at our school until further notice. We will advise when the program will recommence.

UNIFORM SHOP

Our P&C Uniform Shop is closed indefinitely. All current orders are on hold. Featon Locksmiths in Umina Beach will not be selling our uniforms until further notice. We thank you for your understanding.

BLUEY’S SNACK SHACK

Bluey’s Snack Shack, our canteen at Woy Woy South will be closed until further notice. The decision was made in line with recommendations from the Department as well as our efforts to keep both students and volunteers as safe as possible during current circumstances.

All students will be required to bring their recess and lunch to school from home. We thank you for your understanding.
