A city that stakes its claim to fame in arts and

innovation, Austin, Texas, is a mecca of culture

and modernization. As the fastest-growing city in

the United States, the city exudes a newness that

brings people in and convinces them to stay.

Founded in 1839, Austin has expanded far past the

sleepy little village it was intended to be. Located

on the banks of the Colorado River, the city has a

rich history of progress and development. With lively

music, vibrant art and an impressive array of new

and established businesses, Austin truly lives up to

its status as a city of possibility.

As renowned filmmaker and Austin native Robert

Rodriguez said of this iconic city, “People don’t live

in Austin to work, they work to live there.” As a perfect

combination of Southern charm and sophisticated

chic, there is truly a place for everyone and anyone

in Austin. The industrious, the imaginative and

the innovative can all comfortably make their mark

in this great city, under the wide Texas sky.

Letter From the National PresidentI, along with the entire National Committee, am happy to invite you to the PRSSA

2018 National Conference in Austin, Texas. The National Conference is the largest

gathering of public relations students in the country and provides members with

the opportunity to network, learn and grow as pre-professionals.

The PRSA 2018 International Conference will be held just down the street at the

same time as our student Conference. As a Conference attendee, you will have

the opportunity to attend the PRSA General Sessions while surrounded by some

of the industry’s top professionals.

Conference is a once a year event that you won’t want to miss. Over the span of

five days, you will have the chance to attend numerous sessions and enjoy

the annual Awards Ceremony while also exploring Austin. It was through

attending my first Conference that I

met some of my best friends, learned

more about the industry I loved and met

professionals who became mentors.

Attending Conference is one of

the best investments any student

can make and I hope to see you there.

Andrew YoungPRSSA 2018–2019 National President
