Note any deviation from this procedure in the remarks section of the calibration form. Procedural steps marked with a pound sign (#) either require information found on the calibration form used for recording data (Attachment A) or require data to be recorded on the calibration form. If the loop being checked does not include a component that this procedure is checking, mark the step N/A on the calibration data form. 1.0 Purpose

To perform a calibration check and, if necessary, calibration of a coal feeder.

2.0 Equipments/materials needed

These items will be needed for performance of this procedure:

Reference Weigher

Support of reference weigher which weight known

Communication radio / Handy Talkie

3.0 Prerequisites

The following prerequisites shall be completed prior to performance of the maintenance item:

Record the required information on the calibration form.

4.0 Procedural steps

Follow the procedural steps shown in the table bellow:

Do not perform any adjustments until all “as found” calibration data has been recorded.

Note any deviation from this procedure in the remarks section of the calibration form.

Procedural steps marked with a pound sign (#) either require information found on the calibration form used for recording data (Attachment A) or require data to be recorded on the calibration form.

If the loop being checked does not include a component that this procedure is checking, mark the step N/A on the calibration data form.

Step Action

1# Ask DCS operator to set coal feeder ON and send signal Hz to coal feeder. Then record the speed of every signal Hz. Example :

10 Hz = 0.07 m/s

15 Hz = 0.105 m/s

20 Hz = 0.142 m/s

2 Ask DCS operator to set fixed signal to coal feeder. Example :

15 Hz

3 Set menu from 6000 Indicator screen. Then, choose no.2

4 Set Zero Callibration at calibration screen of 6000 Indicator

5 Set Auto Zero at zero calibration mode of 6000 Indicator screen

6 Wait till auto zero complete is appear

7 Ask DCS operator to set signal 0 Hz to coal feeder

8 Put Reference weigher and support in coal feeder.

9 Input weight value of weigher reference plus support at calibration data screen of 6000 indicator

10 Ask DCS operator to set signal 15 Hz to coal feeder

11 Set Span Callibration at calibration screen of 6000 Indicator

12 Set bgin cal, “weight auto span in progress” text will appear

13 If “weight span complete” text is appear at 6000 indicator screen then set enter span.

14 After set enter span, the mass flow and speed indicator will be appear

15# Record the value of mass flow and speed at 6000 indicator screen to calibration data form as unit under test reading.

16# Record mass flow value as calculation reading of calibration data form. Use formula as below

Mass flow = (W x v x K)/ LA

Which :

W = Weight of weigher reference + support, Kg

v = Speed of coal feeder coveyor, m/s

K = Conversion Constanta from kg/s to T/H

LA = Length of pivot to load cell, m

Note :

K = (1/1000)/(1/3600)=3600/1000=3.6

Error = 100% x (unit under test reading – calculation reading)/calculation reading

17# Complete the calibration form and apply the appropriate calibration label.

18 If all checks are within tolerance, restore the coal feeder to operational condition and notify appropriate personnel of work performed.

5.0 Acceptance criteria

Personnel performing this maintenance shall use the following criteria to determine satisfactory completion, subject to review of data by supervision.

Final readings obtained are within the tolerance specified on the calibration work order form.

If any readings are found to be out of tolerance or if any step cannote be performed:

Notify the appropriate personnel for resolution.

Record name of person contacted in comments section of work order form.
