LATI is a company founded in Italy in 1945.

Since its foundation, it has been gaining a prestigious position in the field of engineering thermoplastic compounds in Italy and worldwide.

In fact, LATI is:

• an independent compounder with the widest range of products in Europe;

• one of the most qualified suppliers of self-extinguising compounds in the world;

• a partner in the development of high performance customized special products.

The company has two plants in Italy with a potential production capacity of 38,000 tons per year.

LATI products are used in the main application fields, from automotive to precision mechanics, from household appliances to electronics, from medical to biobased applications.

LATI’s technical compounds are distributed in all major foreign markets through the company’s own sales network.

LATI’s mission is to achieve customer satisfaction through a high technical content service ranging from the compound development to the support for the development of final projects according to customer’s needs and with maximum flexibility.

WHO IS LATI?

LATI has been developing high-tech compounds during the last forty-year.

New formulations are constantly being proposed to satisfy the requirements of many special applications.

The introduction of high end materials has to be supported by a specific technical knowledge, accurate and complete, to be shared with Customers to market well designed and innovative projects.

Today LATI provides a wide range of development services including co-design support, numerical simulation and training courses focused on materials and technologies.

Fluid-dynamical simulationsLATI engineers implement accurate rheological characterizations in finite element analysis software to study the whole moulding process, from the filling phase to deformation of moulded parts.

Results of computer simulations provide solutions to improve molds performance, to modify geometry of parts reducing deformation issues, to fine tune injection parameters.

Qualified by more than 20

years of continuous experience on the field, LATI engineers carry on CAE activity by the mean of state-of-the-art software and know-how.

Structural analysisComputer aided simulations can be used as a reliable tool to investigate the performance of thermoplastic compounds in metal replacement activities.

Thanks to a well trained scientific knowledge and a fully equipped laboratory, it is possible to evaluate the behavior of compounds in actual working conditions, including side effects of temperature, moisture, creep, etc.

Data generated by experimental testing are forwarded to CAE stations where finite element analyses are performed on Customers’ projects to get indications about feasibility and reliability in time.

Thermal analysisBenefits provided by thermally conductive compounds can be evaluated in all those applications where heat exchange plays a fundamental role.

LATI can calculate the efficiency of polymer based heat exchanging devices, eg. in E&E industry, by the mean of FEAs promoting metal replacement and cost reduction activities.

Technical coursesPolymer specialists and Customers have to share their specific knowledge to market new compounds and winning applications.

LATI can provide technical training courses, held in the company or to the Customer, focused on design of plastic parts and intended for engineers, technicians and designers.

During LATI tech courses passion for plastic compounds meets seventy years of experience on the field.

Values shown are based on testing of injection moulded laboratory test specimens, conditioned according to the practice and represent data that fall within the standard range of properties for non-coloured material, if not otherwise specified. As they may be subject to variations, these values do not represent a sufficient basis for any part design and are not intended for use in establishing values for specification purposes. Properties of moulded parts can be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, colorants, part design, processing conditions, post-treatment conditions, environmental conditions and usage of regrind during the moulding process. If data are explicitely explicitly indicated as provisional, range of properties has to be considered wider.
