Would you do business with any company who in the past 6 years had paid fi nes and penalties totaling over $250 BILLION dollars (yes, with a B) for abusing and deceiving its customers?? (I am not making this up, check reputable sources on the internet)!

Better said, would you recommend that a patient see a dentist who blatantly performed unnecessary procedures, intentionally bypassed consumer health regulations, and manipulated prices to tens of thou-sands of patients? What would you think if that dentist was still allowed to operate across the street from you?

Well, welcome to my world. As cor-porate dentistry grows, perhaps you can fi nd some solace knowing that they will probably follow suit with the big banks and not be as patient centric as your practice. Perhaps you will be equally perplexed as you watch patients trust their oral health with them. Nonetheless, I know I need to give you a better reason to move your business to Affi nity Bank than highlighting the defi ciencies of others..

So here I go - the top 10 reasons you should move your deposit accounts (Yes, includ-ing your PERSONAL account!) to Affi nity Bank.1. Always good to do business with people you know and trust and who know and trust YOU!2. We bank dentists from cradle to grave. Yes, any bank will fi nance real estate, but we understand the value of your biggest asset - the goodwill in your practice.3. Easy to switch accounts = ask about our account transition team. Ask any of our clients - it is EASY!4. Low merchant credit card rates- saved clients over $75,000 in 2014 switching from competitors. Free money to you!5. We eat, drink, and breathe dental! We live in your world 24/7. Whether it is GMOM, Hinman, GDA, our annual business scholarship to a GRU student, supporting Ben Massell, etc.

We remain committed to supporting our clients as we have for the past 12 years!6. More free ATM’s worldwide than the big banks.7. Receive email or text alerts for transactions on your account via your smartphone; access your balance quickly through mobile app; easily transfer funds between your business and personal accounts.8. Money market rates substantially higher than the big banks.9. Deposit money into your personal account at the dinner table with our smartphone deposit; email or text your kids money in college via POP Money.10. Work hard, play hard. We are not afraid to have fun (yes, I am strongly biased). Ask any of our clients, we have the best party at Hinman and golf at Hawks Ridge!!

We realize bad habits are hard to break. Don’t tell my dentist, but I only fl oss twice a week. Affi nity is proud to be the leading dental bank in the state of Georgia... Let us show you how we can add value to your practice!

Clayton, Dr. Harold Enoch, Dr. Colin Richman, and Dr. Zach Powell for Clayton, Dr. Harold Enoch, Dr. Colin Richman, and Dr. Zach Powell for their continued guidance and support!their continued guidance and support!

Dr. Eddie PaffordMy fi rst love is my family. Pam was my high school sweetheart and we have been happily married for 40 years. We have 3 beautiful granddaughters and I enjoy spending time with family at our house on Lake Keowee.

Dentistry is my second love. Even after practicing for 38 years, I still enjoy it. I invest a lot of my time volunteering with Hinman and am currently the Program Chairman for 2017. I have also served as a chairman for GMOM and worked at the Hebron Clinic in Gwinnett County.

In my spare time, I also enjoy backpacking, reading, skiing, gardening, fi shing and woodworking. I have been to some really cool places backpacking, rafting, and kayaking. I have climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, hiked to Machu Picchu in Peru, backpacked near Mt. McKinley in Alaska, as well as in southern Alaska with my children, rafted and kayaked in Costa Rica and Belize and backpacked into the Grand Canyon.

Dr. Richard WeinmanIn my free time, I enjoy reading, exercising and working in the yard. While it might seem unusual, my real passion is organized dentistry. My involvement in the Northern District, GDA and ADA has allowed me to participate in the process of forming and implementing the regulations and laws that determine how we practice dentistry. What I spend my time doing really boils down to politics. In politics, you learn you win some battles and lose some as well. It’s the process that is exciting. The other part of my involvement that’s rewarding is the good friends I have made in Georgia and throughout the country.

One of the unique things about dentistry is that it allows us to give back to our community by provid-ing care to those who are in need. I have found two programs that help me to do this. One is the Ben Massell Dental Clinic where I am on the volunteer staff and also serve on its board of directors. The other program is the Donated Dental Services (DDS) that allows the dentist to treat patients in their offi ce. I am working to expand this program in Georgia. Both programs screen the patients to ensure they qualify for need and help make the process of providing care easy and rewarding.

Client Spotlight: Dr. Ashish Kakadia“Ever since I started banking with Affi nity Bank, it has been nothing but an above and beyond experience. Affi nity Bank should be a role model for the industry at keeping the process personable, simple, and client-oriented unlike all the big banks in the market. I cannot thank you enough Affi nity Bank and your entire team for being very supportive and putting trust in me. I will be their client forever and cannot wait to see our relationship grow further in the future.”

Saving Strategies to Reach Your New Year’s GoalsIt’s not always how much you earn that determines how well you live. More often it’s how well you save. Start the new year right with a resolution to commit to saving. Look Out for No. 1 One of the most effective savings strategies is to pay yourself fi rst. Calculate a set amount to deposit to your savings account before paying bills or spending on incidentals or entertainment. Nothing extra to save? Create reserves by consid-ering what expenses you can eliminate. Even something as simple as skipping coffee once a week can add up. If you doubt your discipline, set up an automatic plan that puts part of your pay or a set amount from your checking account into your savings.

Goal-Oriented AccountsTo achieve multiple fi nancial goals such as retiring comfortably, paying for college, buying a home or even taking a special vacation, consider using sepa-rate savings accounts for each. This can make it easier to track your progress. Calculate exactly how much cash you’ll need to reach each objective and then earmark portions of what you save for the respective accounts.

Maximize ReturnsGet a better return from your efforts by taking advantage of higher interest investments, particularly when your goals are long-term. In return for leav-ing your money untouched for a set period, banks such as Affi nity Bank offer certifi cates of deposit with rates that are generally higher than regular savings accounts. Money market funds can be another good option. These typically require a higher minimum balance than regular savings accounts, but offer bet-ter rates.

Follow these tips and before long you’ll have that full nest egg you need to reach all your fi nancial goals.

With this Act, those who were disabled prior to age 26 will be able to contribute up to $14,000 a year, tax free, into an ABLE account. tips to make sure you not only spot the “A” Player candi-

4 Simple Steps to Better Your Own Business with “A” Method Hiring Today!

1. SCORECARD. Create an overiew document for every role in the company, listing a set of outcomes that the person in that role must accomplish and a set of competencies they must display in order to deliver an “A” performance.

2. SOURCE. Finding “A” players is challenging. That’s why you should always have a pipeline of A Players waiting when a position becomes available. Re-ferrals that come from your personal and professional networks are typically the best sources for new hires.

3. SELECT. Conduct a series of four structured interviews, in which you gather all the relevant facts about a candidate necessary to complete the scorecard. • The Screening Interview is meant to eliminate most “B” and “C” players. If the candi- date’s answers to your key questions are satisfactory, you can advance them to the next stage. • The Topgrading Interview is the most important step in the interview process. This interview serves to fi nd out the history of the candidate’s career and asks: what they were hired to do, what the high and low points were, how their bosses would rate their performances and why they left. This interview provides insight into who the candidate is, what’s important to them and how they operate which is crucial to understand. • The Focused Interview involves interviewing successful topgraded candidates with other members. This interview should involve asking any additional questions and gather follow-up information about specifi c outcomes and competencies of the scorecard. • The Reference Interview is the fi nal interview and involves checking references against what the candidate provided and gathering supplemental information from bosses, coworkers and (for management positions) subordinates.

4. SELL. When you fi nd the “A” Players you want to have on your team, you must convince them to join you.
