Corpus Christi
This celebration originated in the diocese
of Liège (1246) on the basis of revelations
of Juliana of Cornillon. It was accepted
with such enthusiasm throughout Europe
that in 1264 it was promulgated for the
entire Latin Church. From the beginning
the feast commemorated both the body
and the blood of the Lord. This original
unity has been restored in the post-Vatican
II celebration.
Jesus and his Church have a keen grasp of
this reality in the celebrations we call
sacraments. Sacraments address them-
selves to the Church which is Christ’s
Body and to individual members of that
Body. The source and summit of all the
Church’s life is professed to be the cele-
bration of the Eucharist where the Body of
Christ partakes of what it is.
On this Sunday we celebrate our identity
as Christ’s body. On this Sunday we
profess our belief that the life-giving and
life-supporting blood which flows among
us is Christ’s very life. On this Sunday we
direct our attention to the symbol which
makes all other symbols possible.
The earthly
language of bodies
and blood fills the
scriptures. But
those same
scriptures
proclaim that the
pouring forth of
blood is unto the
nourishment of
God’s people. Flesh, blood, bread and
wine are the products of destructive
processes which bring them to human
tables as food to sustain a family. Christ
immersed himself in those processes
which brought him to the table of the
human family as the one food and drink
which changes the eater into the eaten.
In him we truly become what we eat and
drink.

We give a special congratulations to our seventeen Holy Sepulcher School Eighth Grade students who are graduating on Thursday, June 2, 2016. This is a tremendous step for our young people as they go on to the various high schools of their choice. It is also a time to thank their parents, for sharing their children with us as we tried to share with them the Gospel values of our faith. It is also a time to thank Sister Anna Marie Gaglia, school principal, Mr. Rich-
ard Rechenberg, Mrs. Dorothy
Johnson, 8th grade teachers, Mrs. Lydia Smith, school secretary, and Teachers and Volunteers who make a Catholic School Education possible through their own dedication and personal sacrifices. It is also a time to thank the parish family, who so generously supported Catholic School Education. It is a time to
thank those special donors to the School Tuition Assistance Fund, who make it possible for any child and family who chooses, to participate in this special form of Catholic Education. Added to our congratulations and thanks is a prayer that our young people will assimilate the values we tried to pass on to them in every aspect of their lives.
May our graduates keep making us
proud, not only by their successes
academically, but also by how they
continue to live the Gospel of Jesus
Christ in the Church, and by their

2016 PARISH SHARE UPDATE
Our Parish Share Campaign continues. We have currently received pledge cards from 271 families totaling $72,996.89 We have collected $66,159.86 or 59.59% of our goal of $110,480.00. Father Bob is urging us to use the pledge card system. We strongly recommend all parishioners to make a pledge with or without payment at this time. Payments can be made throughout the year to fulfill your pledge. Thank you for your generosity.
SOCIABLES
The Holy Sepulcher Sociables will meet on Sunday, June 5 at 1:30 in the YYAC for a soup and sandwich luncheon. Our speaker will be our Pastor, Father Robert Cedolia. There are still openings for 2016 Mass Intentions. The practice of requesting a Mass to be offered for loved ones, living or deceased, is a beautiful and wonderful part of our Catholic tradition. Forms can be found on the Narthex table or in the parish office. Each Mass is a $10 offering.

The Patzun Mission Group is hosting a bake sale after all Masses next weekend. Please stop by their table in the Narthex and support the children of the San Bernardino School. Baked items will not be

Eucharistic Adoration Day On Wednesday, June 1, we will have our monthly Eucharistic Adoration Day. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed from 9:00 am - 6:45 pm. Holy Sepulcher School is accepting applications for new students for the 2016-17 school year. We offer a 3 year old Preschool program, a 4 year old Preschool program, a Pre K program and full day Kindergarten, plus grades 1-8. PRE SCHOOL AND KINDERGARTEN
Pre School and Kindergarten completed the year this week! Kindergarten celebrated their first year of school at an all school Mass with their families and friends on Friday May 27. We are looking forward to welcoming a new Kindergarten class. This year we will have two classes with 15 students in each class. We have only three spaces open! The kindergarten program is full day. YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY All young adults (18-39) are invited to a fellowship night at the Youth and Young Adult Center on Wednesday, June 1. The evening will begin with 7:00 pm Mass
and continue in the YYAC with a special dinner cooked by Father Nick Vascov, Vice Rector at St. Paul Seminary. Holy
Sepulcher Young Adult Ministry is dedicated to discovering Christ through community, prayer, learning and service.
All young adults (those out of high school for at least one year through the

MANDATORY MISSION TRIP MEETING

ATTENTION COLLEGE AGED YOUNG ADULTS
Beginning on Tuesday, June 7 and every Tuesday until August 16, young adults from Saint Catherine of Sweden, Saint Richard and Holy Sepulcher Parishes will gather for food and fellowship from 7:00-9:00 pm. All college aged students are invited!

SUMMER INSTITUTE All parish catechists and Catholic School Teachers are encouraged to register NOW for the Diocesan Summer Institute that will take place at Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic High School from June 21 – June 24, 2016. Classes consist of the necessary basic certification courses, a leadership track for principals, courses for catecheti-cal administrators, elective credit courses, and courses designed specifically for non-religion teachers. Participants will receive resources that can be used in the classroom & 18 credit-hours toward ongoing certification. Fee is $78 per person. Breakfast & lunch is provided. FESTIVAL OF PRAISE FOR
VOCATIONS June 23, 7:00-8:30 pm at St. Paul Seminary, 2900 Noblestown Rd., Pittsburgh, PA. An evening outdoors at St. Paul Seminary praying for an increase in priestly vocations and praising God for the 6 men to be ordained. Night includes Adoration, praise and worship music by Carl and Erin Stuvek, confessions, a reflection from Bishop Zubik, and a light reception. There will be limited seating available.
