U14 P1 Football County Final Congratulations to the U14 footballers who defeated
Glanmire on a scoreline of Valley Rovers 2-7 to
Glanmire 0-7 last Saturday afternoon in Pairc Ui
Chaoimh. This is the premier grade for this age group
& was the icing on the cake for this team following
their P2 Hurling final win only a few weeks ago also.
So double county champions & well deserved!
Their season isn’t over yet either I’m told as they take
on Ballincollig in the P2 League Semi-Final next
Saturday in Brinny. Best of luck to them &
congratulations from the club once again. The Team is
our cover photo this week & Captain Daniel Lynch is
pictured below receiving the cup also.
U11 Hurling Valley Rovers U11 Hurlers had their last game of the
year against Ballincollig in Brinny last Saturday. This
was a very good workout and the lads gave strong
performances in both games fielding 2 11 aside teams.
The lads won both games but more importantly played
very well displaying good basics and a hunger and
desire for the ball which bodes well after a long
season. The improvement from the players during the
course of the year has been very heartening and credit
to the lads for the effort put in during the season. It is
very important now that the season is finished that the
lads continue to practice at home, this is where good
players are made. Striking the ball off the wall or with a
family member or friend will make all the difference
when the season starts up again in the new year.
Thanks to all the lads for their efforts at training during
the year.

Valleys players on St Brogans &
Hamilton high School Teams
Well done to the Valley Rovers players on the St
Brogans U15 football team who beat North-Mon AG
in Pairc Uí Chaoimh recently on a scoreline of 8-11 to
6-05, & also to the Valley Rovers players on the St
Brogans U14 Hurling team who beat Skibbereen
Community School last Friday.
Hard luck to the Valley Rovers players on the Hamilton
High school senior hurling team who lost out in a
tightly contested game against Midleton CBS in the
first round of the Dr. Harty Cup in Whitechurch last
week on a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-20. Great experience
for them to be playing at that level.

U7/8 Camogie The U7 & 8 girls finished up their season last Saturday
with an arts & games morning in Knockavilla hall. Cindy
from ‘The Venue’ was on hand to guide the girls
through some Valley Rovers inspired art work & games
while the parents enjoyed a cuppa & a chat.
At the end of the morning each girl went home with a
personalised Valley Rovers bag & mug & some goodies
which went down a treat.
These girls have put in a great season with 12
blitz/games played & 23 training sessions completed,
over which they have shown huge progression in skills
& confidence & most importantly enjoyment of the
game. We’d encourage them to keep practising at
home or at the Ballwall over the winter & we look
forward to having them back in February once again.
Well done to each of them
U11 Camogie The U11 girls had their last outing of the year last
Saturday afternoon when they took a bus trip out to
Clonakility to take on the home team in a challenge
game. Great skills and effort was on display from the
all the girls, showing how much they’ve come on since
the start of the year. The promise of delicious donuts
and a pit stop in Billie’s Diner on the way home served
as great motivation it seemed .
It was also absolutely fantastic to have Caoimhe
Finnegan back playing today with her teammates again
& enjoying the afternoon out. Well done to all the girls
& we look forward to seeing them back next year
again.

Cork U14 Development Squad Congratulations to Valleys players Fia Johnson & Eve
O’Dwyer who have both been selected on the Cork U14
development squad for 2020. This will be a great
learning experience for them we are sure. The squad

a few more Valleys players to join Fia & Eve yet, fingers
crossed.
