ROUND 2 KELLEHER SHIELD DIVISION
FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Valley Rovers Senior footballers took on O'Donovan Rossa in their first league game in Brinny on Sunday. Valleys made the better start and were two points up inside the opening five minutes. The visitors responded well with four points to lead by two after ten minutes. Valleys upped their game and kicked four points to lead by two coming into the last few minutes of the opening half however two late O'Donovan Rossa points left the half time score 0-6 each. Valleys made the better start to the second half scoring the opening two points but again O'Donovan Rossa responded well kicking 1-02 the goal coming from a penalty. Valleys then took over outscoring O'Donovan Rossa five points to one to lead by one coming into the last five minutes. With three minutes to play O'Donovan Rossa scored a second goal to put two points between the teams, Valley’s tried gallantly bridge the gap but could only manage one point. It left the full time score Valley Rovers 0-14 O'Donovan Rossa 2-9. Next up for Vallleys is an away trip to Mallow next Sunday. GOLDEN GOAL WINNING CHEQUE FOR IRISH CANCER SOCIETY
As the owner of winning ticket (41 mins, 41 secs) of the 2016 Golden Goal competition had not claimed their prize by December 4th 2016, the Irish Cancer Society (ICS) were presented with the Prize, as per the rules. This was done on Friday 17th Feb at the annual Ladies Football & Camogie Celebration in the Munster Arms hotel. Included in the picture is Nicola McMahon (ICS), and our special guest on the night, Cork Ladies football legend Brid Stack, along with Sean Michael Collins, Gary Lynch, Leo O'Flynn, John Murphy & Mark O'Sullivan.

HAPPY 80th BIRTHDAY FRANK
We would like to wish Frank Kearney a big happy 80th
birthday today. Frank is a great servant to Valley
Rovers club. We wish him and his wife Pat all the best
in health and happiness.
YEARLY LOTTO TICKETS
Valley Rovers yearly lotto are NOW OVERDUE the
renewal date was to 31st January 2017, please contact
their local collector to renew their tickets.

Due to popular demand, we are delighted to announce
another night of Strictly Valleys. This event will be held
in The Oriel House Hotel, Ballincollig on Friday April 7th
2017. Tickets €25 each and will be going on sale on
Wednesday March 8th from 7 to 9pm in St Patrick's
Upton Hall.
