“Have a point of view. Stand by what you know and be confident enough to express your ideas. Shows clients you have thought about them rather than just going with their idea, which may be illogical.”

Agency Overview

• Digital agency that engages communities and builds brands for companies and organizations with a cause

• Expertise in microsites, apps, web design, and social media

Approaches

• Engagement: Traffic, engage, reward, re-engagement

• Platform marketing: Have a solid base of fans first before starting campaigns. This way, when the campaign ends and you lose fans, it won’t be as drastic as if you had no fan base to begin with.

What organization or internship are you currently a part of? “I have a proposed internship set up for spring quarter of this year focusing on PR work for an newly opened restaurant in Arroyo Grande.”

What is your favorite thing about your current position and why? “I enjoy working with Comfort Market and have featured them in personal features in the past via my food and dining website. They focus on home quality food in a relaxed, comfortable setting. They also offer cooking classes, take home meals, and a cooking/pastry blog to connect with their customers. They have put in the time and dedication to becoming an important member of their community.”

What’s a typical “day on the job” like for you?“Since my position will begin with spring quarter a "day in the life" for me now focuses on: my puppy Sammie, a 3.5 lb Yorkie Pomeranian who has a mind of his own, as you know (; I also attend Cal Poly 4 days a week earning my last remaining credits before graduation in June. In my time away from school, I am usually studying Italian, my second language and heritage, as well as working for my father at our family restaurant here in SLO. I currently manage our Facebook page, website, and schedules in addition to serving dinner 2 nights a week.”

What advice can you give to someone who is interested in what you do ? “I would say that for someone who has grown up in a restaurant business there are many similarities between PR and being a restaurant owner. Specifically when it comes to communicating with your clients or customers. Learning to be a gracious host is a major bonus in PR because it has helped me think on my feet in professional situations when I wasn't sure of the exact protocol.”

Me and my biggest supporters: my big sisters Jessi (middle) and Ornella (right).

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, what is something you are thankful for?“I'm thankful for being able to see my dad feed my new baby nephew carrot soup!”
