From the Pastor,On Sunday, October 16th , I was standing at the entrance of the nave shaking hands as you all wereleaving for the day. Kenny Saunders, our council president, came out smiling, and exclaimed that wehad a great worship that morning. Kenny said that it just felt good to be a part of it. I agree. Itwas goodto be part of that worship service. I have found that it is good to be part of all worship that seeks to befaithful as the Word is spoken and sung and the Sacraments (Baptism and Holy Communion) arerightly administered. In the context of worship, when we proclaim the Word and celebrate the Sacraments, we are, in thewords of Psalm 96, ascribing to the Lord glory and strength. We are in the presence of God proclaimingto God and to each other that it is in God's presence, God's glory, that we are fed and nourished forservice in the world. We are acknowledging that it is in God that we find strength, resolve, anddetermination to live as God has called us to live in love and service to God and neighbor.Worship is integral to your spiritual life, because it is in worship that we gather as a community toconfess our faith in God. We confess it to God and we confess it to each other. We may have solitarytimes of devotion. These too are important to keep the presence and strength of God in mind. It is inworshipping together as a community, however, that we can without out a doubt have God's promisesproclaimed to and for us. It is in communal worship that we confess that our faith is not ultimatelyabout a personal relationship with Jesus, but a relationship that is about God's purposes for us for thesake of the world.Through our gathering around the Word and Sacraments in worship, we ascribe glory and strength toGod's name. We confess that it is God who is with us and God who gives us strength for life lived inservice to others. I look forward to worshipping with you all. Make worship part of your weeklyroutine. As you are nurtured, fed, and inspired, you will be all smiles like Kenny who was ready to facethe world and to serve in it .Christ's Peace,Pastor Scott

A HUGE THANK YOU TO All OF YOUI want to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to all of you for the two wonderful years that I served ayour Interim Pastor. It has, indeed, been a joy serving you these past two years and getting to know all of you. I havappreciated the thoughtfulness and hospitality that you have shown me in so many ways. You are a wonderful "fellowship of believers" who express a deep concern and care for both your fellow members anfor others. You have excellent leadership in your Congregation Council and many members who are willing tparticipate in the life and ministry of your congregation.I especially want to thank you for the Farewell Dinner and the gifts that you gave me at that dinner. Words cannoadequately express my gratitude for the framed clock and the financial "purse." Indeed, Kim Brandt was right, you dihave me speechless! I have to say that I have never felt so appreciated in all my life as I did that evening!St. Paul wrote in Philippians 1:3: "I thank my God every time I remember you constantly praying with joy in everyoneof my prayers for all of you, because of your sharing in the gospel from the first day until now. I am confident of thisthat the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ."May God bless you richly as a congregation and as individuals now and in the future .

. . Pastor Kirk BishInterim Pastor
