As you probably know, November is

the month of BONFIRE NIGHT! The

night where everyone wraps up warm,

watches reworks,lights bonresand

plays with sparklers.

But did you know why we celebrate

this on the 5th of November?

Its because on this night, many many

years ago, there was an aempt to

blow up the Houses of Parliament in

London USING 36 BARRELS OF GUN-

POWDER! Luckily for the people inside,

the plot was discovered and the gun-

powder ploers were arrested. Here is

Here at DCU Central there have been some BIGchanges go-

ing on. Sadly we are saying goodbye to Danielle Mahews,

the current Childrens University Assistant, who is going on

an adventure to Indonesia where shell be teaching in a local

school! She plans on keeping in contact and connuing to

watch Childrens University grow, even if it is from overseas!

The map shows where Danielle will be moving to A long

way away!

We are also saying hello to a new member of sta, Jessica

Goss, who will be taking over the role as Childrens Universi-

ty Assistant. She is very excited to be geng involved and

looks forward to working with you!

As you probably know, here at DCU Central we love hearing about how you are all geng on,

not only from you individually, but from our learning desnaons too. So we were very happy

to receive an update on a couple of students from the Chaos Muay Thai Fitness & Compeon

Training Centre in Okehampton:

Marie Day, Aged 10, has rapidly made an impact in a short space

of me, picking up plenty of domesc tles on the last show and

recently beang the older, more experienced World ISKA Champi-

on Soa Martos from Spain!

Sammy Jo-Luxton, Aged 15, has had over 30 junior

ghts and has been able to travel to dierent

countries to compete. In May she brought back a

Silver medal, in the IFMA World Championships in

Malaysia!

Georgia Smithers, aged 13, has only been training

for less that a year, but recently she defeated the

Current Brish Champion in her weight category!

Activities to get involved with this

month!Sherlock Bone are currently running two

crime scene invesgaon based workshops

1. Crime Scene Invesgaon: a team

uses various scienc techniques to invesgate a

crime scene and solve the crime! Scienc tech-

niques include blood, ngerprinng and using

real human skeletons!

2. Forensic Facial Reconstrucon:

learners are given a skull of an unknown person

which they have to rebuild using scienc tech-

niques and clay to nd out what the person may

have looked like!
