From the Director’s desk
The second half of 2018 witnessed several activities
in NISA. The Academy fraternity was honoured to welcome Shri
Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, MoS (Home), Govt. of India on the oc-
casion of passing out of 32nd Batch AC/DA and 44th Batch SI/Exe.
The Chief Guest appreciated the dedication and hard work of the
trainees and wished them success in their career. An integrated demo
on security tactics, fire and disaster management was shown which
showcased the multi-dimensional training capabilities of the Acad-
emy. Another highlight was the Convocation Ceremony at NALSAR
where the trainees were conferred with diplomas.
On 07.07.2018 NISA celebrated Van Mahotsav by
planting 1100 saplings in the campus. Foreign delegates from the
United States and Ministry of Defence visited NISA on 01.08.18 and
they were effusive in praise about the quality of training at NISA.
72nd Independence day was celebrated by the staff and
trainees with great zeal as Smt. Anjana Sinha IPS, Director NISA
unfurled the tricolour and reviewed the Parade. The period also wit-
nessed the grand celebration of National Unity Day ( Rashtriya Ekta
Diwas ) on 31.09.2018 to commemorate the birth anniversary and
remembering the contributions of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai
Patel.
The Kerala Flood Relief Donation program was or-
ganized by the Social Action Club of NISA on 23.08.2018 to support
the disaster hit state. Diwali, the Festival of Lights, was celebrated
with great enthusiasm by the staff and trainees of NISA.
On 24th October 2018 ADG/HQr Shri Alok Kumar Pateria,
IPS visited NISA and reviewed the training facilities and demo con-
ducted by the Special Tactics Training Wing. He also inaugurated
industrial security course of 1st Batch of Srilankan Police Officers.
With such activities NISA is looking forward to make great
strides to attain professional excellence not only at national level but
at international level also.

An impressive and colourful Passing Out Parade was presented on 09.12.18 by the trainees of 32nd Batch
AC/DA and 44th Batch SI/DA. Chief Guest Shri Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, MoS (Home Affairs) Govt. of India re-
viewed the parade. The Chief guest expressed the view that the rather perfect parade was a reflection of
hours of hard work by the trainees and trainers. The occasion was graced by distinguished guests, senior offi-
cers from various uniform services viz. State Police, CRPF, Army, IAF, etc., invitees and media representa-
tives. A large number of family members of trainees as well as those from NISA campus also witnessed the
memorable moment. The Chief Guest complimented the staff and trainees for presenting the excellent pa-
rade and wished the trainees a successful career ahead. The Hon’ble Chief Guest gave away trophies to the
trainees who excelled in Indoor, Outdoor, PT, Firing and All Round Best Performance. An Investiture
Ceremony was also carried out in which the Chief Guest awarded President’s Police Medals for Distin-
guished Service RD-2018, Police Medals for Meritorious Service RD-2018, and Fire Service Medals for
Meritorious Service RD-2018 to the medal awardees and congratulated them for achievement.

On the day of 72nd Independence Day, the staff and trainees celebrated this national festival with great
enthusiasm and respect. Smt. Anjana Sinha, Director & IG/NISA was the chief guest for the occasion, she unfurled
the National flag and reviewed the parade. In her address, she spoke on the significance of the historic day and also
told about the supreme sacrifice the great martyrs gave for the sake of freedom. She also said that the freedom is very
precious and it is very necessary to preserve it. The festive occasion at NISA ceremonial ground was witnessed by
large crowd of staff, trainees and family members . She also added that the independence day has a great importance
in every citizen’s life and this day reminds every person every year that freedom is scared and citizen must do
everything to ensure that it shall not be endangered. The function was concluded with colorful cultural programme
presented by members of Sanrakshika and children of NISA school.

National Unity Day (also known as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) was celebrated at NISA on 31st October 2018 to com-
memorate the birth anniversary and remembering extraordinary works done for the country by “ The Iron Man”
Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. On the day of observance, an oath ceremony was organized in which all officers, staff and
trainees took oath. Smt. Anjana Sinha, Director/NISA administered the oath followed by parade
The National Police Commemoration Day was celebrated on 21st October 2018, remembering the brave policemen who
sacrificed their lives while discharging their duties. Shri T. Vikram, IPS, DIG/NISA paid tributes to martyred Police Per-
sonnel by placing wreath and read out the names of martyrs during the period 01.09.2017 to 31.08.2018 on the solemn
occasion at Martyrs’ memorial NISA. Officers of NISA and FSTI Staff and trainees were present on the occasion to pay
respect and homage to the martyrs’.
