S hri Arvind Ranjan, IPS, DG/CISF visited National Industrial Security Academy, the Premier Institute of CISF, on 02.08.2014. During his visit, a Guard of Honour was presented by the NISA staff. During his visit, he inaugurated the newly constructed Martyr ’ s park with fountain near NISA Martyr ’ s memorial and also planted a coconut tree. Later he inaugurated the newly constructed “ Drill Nursery ” beside the NISA stadium.

A n impressive and colourful Passing Out Parade was presented by the trainees of 28th batch AC/DA, 8th batch AC/DE and 40th batch SI/DA on 03.08.2014. Shri Kiren Rijiju, MOS ( Home) reviewed the parade. In his welcome address, Shri Arvind Ranjan, IPS, DG/CISF highlighted the

role of CISF in providing security to more than 300 PSUs along with Airports and Private Sector. The Chief Guest complimented the staff and trainees for presenting excellent parade. He also wished the trainees a successful career ahead. The Hon’ b le Chief Guest gave away trophies to the trainees who excelled in Indoor, Outdoor, P.T., Firing and for All Round performance. The Hon ’ ble Chief Guest awarded President ’ s Police Medals for Distinguished Service RD-2014, Police Medals for Meritorious Service RD-2014, and President ’ s Fire Service Medals for Distinguished Service RD-2014, Fire Service Medals for Meritorious Service RD-2014 and Jeevan Rakshak Padak Award-2013 to the CISF personnel of various ranks and congratulated them for their hard work and dedication.

4. VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK : A Vigilance Awareness Programme was organized for the period of one week at NISA from 27.10.14 to 01.11.14. Various competitions were organized and renowned guest faculties were invited to deliver lectures during the week. Shri V. Chandrasekhar, IPS, SP CBI, Hyderabad addressed the staff & trainees of the Academy during concluding day of Vigilance Awareness Week

5. NISA RAISING DAY : An impressive and colourful parade was conducted by the trainees of Academy on the eve of 25th NISA day celebration on 08.12.14. Shri Anil Kumar, Director NISA & IG/TS was Chief Guest on the occasion. Apart from distinguished guest, school children from various schools, important persons from nearby villages witnessed the occasion. After parade, various Demonstration of Physical Training, Weapon Training and cultural programme were also conducted. Demonstration of various weapons was also an attraction for the guests.

1. SADBHAVNA DIWAS: To mark the observance of Sadbhavna Diwas on 20.08.14, an oath taking ceremony was organized in which all staff, trainees took oath to perform their duty for oneness and harmony of all people of India regardless of caste, religion and language.

2. HINDI PAKHWARA : Hindi fortnight was organized from 14.09.2014 to 28.09.2014 at NISA. During the pakhwara, various competitions like Shruti Lekhan, Speech, Debate, Jokes, essay writing etc were organized. These competitions were conducted by different boards and the board declared the winners of competitions. The trainees and staff participated in the competitions with zeal and enthusiasm.

3. POLICE COMMEMORATION DAY : The police Commemoration day was observed on 21.10.14 at Martyr’s Memorial, NISA. Shri Anil Kumar, Director NISA & IG/TS placed wreath at the memorial and addressed the gathering.

In view of announcement of our Prime Minister, a mission for clean India, “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” was launched on 02.10.14 at NISA. To make the vision of our Prime Minister i.e. “Lets join the hands together to keep our environment clean and green is inspired from Mahatma Gandhi, father of Nation. The participation of staff & trainees of NISA and FSTI showed their dedicated efforts in the cleaning drive. All staff and trainees assembled at marka ground in the beginning of the programme where Shri Anil Kumar, Director NISA & IG/TS administered the oath for cleaning the area of work place, residencial area and common place. The cleaning drive started with full zeal and enthusiasm under the guidance of Shri Anil Kumar, Director NISA & IG/TS where he himself personally participated in cleaning drive. The cleaning drive was spread over all along the entire premises of NISA campus including surrounding areas of NISA out side the campus. A special cleaning drive was also conducted at Govt. Primary School, Singaipally, close to the NISA campus. In his address, Shri Anil Kumar, Director NISA & IG/TS appealed to all residing in NISA premises to contribute one hour for cleaning the premises every week to realize the dream of clean India by 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in 2019.

During his visit, Shri Om Prakash Singh, IPS, DG/NDRF on 25/26.11.2014 assessed the training facilities, Infrastructure and accommodation at the training institution for the proposed Disaster Management Course for SAARC country. He interacted with the instructors and planted a tree sapling at FSTI. Later he also visited NISA and interacted with Asstt. Commandant trainees & Instructors of NISA.

Smt. Shubha Ranjan, President Sanrakshika inaugurated the Sanrakshika Primary School at NISA on 02.08.2014. During her visit at Sanrashika Complex in NISA, the small wonders of primary school welcomed her in their colourful dresses. She also spent time with the kids of Sanrakshika Primary School and distributed sweets to them. The cultural program was organized by the members of NISA Sanrashika whicho started with lighting of lamp by Smt. Shubha Ranjan, President Sanrakshika. She also planted a plant in the garden of Sanrakshika Complex.

On 02.10.2014 members of NISA Sanrakshika gathered at Sanrakshika Complex under the guidance of Mrs. Prerna Punj, Vice President, NISA Sanrakshika and they took oath of cleanliness and demonstrated their support in good spirit for “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”. Later they carried out a massive cleaning drive at residential area of NISA campus whole heartedly.

A talent hunt programme was organized at NISA Sanrakshika Complex on 14.11.2014 under the guidance of Mrs. Prerna Punj, Vice President, NISA Sanrakshika. The wards of NISA and FSTI staff participated enthusiastically and presented a wonderful programme. Huge gathering witnessed the programme and enjoyed the evening.

Sanrakshika NISA organized various well initiated educational programmes, cultural activities, periodical meetings during the second half of the year under the leadership of Mrs. Prerna Punj, Vice President, Sanrakshika NISA. On 21.07.14 a programme for making Pop corn was carried out during monthly assembly for the members of NISA Sanrakshika. Mrs. Prerna Punj, Vice President, Sanrakshika NISA exhorted members for their new initiatives and ideas. She inaugurated joy and fun programme for the members and families of NISA Sanrakshika and conducted tour programme to Ramoji Film city in different batches. During the city tour, CISF families showed enthusiastic response. A life supporting First-Aid class on Basic life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) was also con-ducted on 22.09.14 to create awareness among the members of NISA Sanrakshika.

A N N U A L S P O R T S A N D C U L T U R A L M E E T “ T A R A N G - 2 0 1 4 ” A T N I S A

“TARANG” an Annual Sports & Cultural Meet - 2014 was organized at NISA stadium from 27.10.14 to 29.10.14. Shri Anil Kumar, Director NISA & IG/TS inaugurated the meet. Various athletic and sports events were con-ducted during the meet. The competitions were open category for all staff, trainees and wards of CISF. Shri Pullela Gopichand, badminton legend and recipient of various prestigious awards was the Chief Guest during closing ceremony. Shri P. N. Rao, ADG, National Academy of Central Excise, Custom and Narcotics, Hyderabad also witnessed the events and cultural programs on the day of conclusion. In his address, Chief Guest appreciated the participants and those who contributed to make the meet a grand success.

“National Unity Day” was celebrated on 31.10.2014 at NISA. A run was organized on the occasion. The motto of this run was “Run for Unity”. All trainees and staff of NISA & FSTI participated enthusiastically in this run. The run for unity started from NISA campus gate No. 2, went all along with near by village Singaipally and concluded at ceremonial ground of NISA. After arrival at ceremonial ground, a pledge was taken by all staff and trainees of Academy. Shri Anil Kumar, Director NISA & IG/TS administered the oath.

The joyful moment of 68th Independence day was celebrated at NISA. Chief Guest Shri Anil Kumar, Director NISA & IG/TS hoisted the National Flag and reviewed the parade. An excellent parade was presented by the staff and trainees of NISA. The Chief Guest congratulated all staff and trainees on the occasion. He remembered the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and exhorted the gathering to follow their ideas. Children of NISA Sanrakshika school and members of NISA Sanrakshika presented a colourful cultural programme on this occasion. Mrs. Prerna Punj, Vice Presi-dent NISA Sanrakshika interacted with the children.

Festival of all religions were celebrated by NISA staff and family members along with trainees with full religious fervor, joy and devotion. Apart from the traditional devotional rituals and prayer, cultural programmes were also organized by staff and trainees of NISA on such occasions. During month of Ramzan, an iftar party was organized for all trainees and staff of NISA and FSTI. Diwali was celebrated amidst joyous blend of colourful crackers bursting. Father of St. Josheph Church, Belarus prayed for peace and prosperity for one and all on the eve of Christmas celebration at NISA Mytri Church.
