Friday Training Day A big thank you to everyone involved in our first training day for 2016 and it was great to see so many new faces. The round robin

effect worked well which gave everyone involved some hands/horse on experience at a variety of things. There were lots of chal-

lenges for both horses and riders from an obstacle course to cut out on foot and a mechanical bull. The weather turned south for

a short while and gave us a little shower but it was just enough to keep the dust level down.

Saturday Arena Sorting & Sunday Team Penning A little bit of a change up as we usually do Team Penning on the Saturday and Arena Sorting on the Sunday. This change was

made due to an special Easter Monday Team Penning top 20 run off. It was good to see our new and old members using some of

their skills they had gained at the Training Day with Arena Sorting and Team Penning. The sun kept shining and the nights were

perfect for sitting around the camp fire.

Dogs on Leads

Thank you to everyone for adhering to the all dogs

on lead or tied up rule. Many of us like to bring

dogs to our competition days and this ruling just

keeps both people and dogs safe at all times.

Leesa Barker our Head Cattleperson and Donna McMahon from

Kurri Rural & Pet Produce one of our sponsors are having their

heads shaved for the World’s Greatest Shave. It will be at the

Lochinvar Hotel on Friday April 15 and there will be live music and

raffles. Come along for a fun filled time.

Background:

Affectionately known as Moo by all, she has been a member of

VTP since it’s inception. Moo grew up in Bourke NSW with horses

and is the second youngest of 5 children and at the young age of 5

started Pony Club and rode well into her early twenties.

After having a few years off from riding she purchased a horse

about 20 years ago and hasn’t stopped participating in Pony Club,

Sporting, Jumping, Team Penning, Sorting and Trail Riding. Com-

pleting all 5 King of the Ranges trail rides is a feather in her cap.

Crikey, the horse she currently has she believes is the best pony

she has ever owned.

Moo is the mother to a 21 year old boy and 19 year old girl and

she is an endorsed enrolled nurse.
