Location and CampusGeorgia College is located in the southeastern United Statesequally distant to the coastline, the mountains and the statecapital, Atlanta. The main campus is located on 43 acres inthe heart of Milledgeville, one of Georgia’s most historiccities, and ranks among the top 25 safest campuses in thecountry. Beautiful antebellum homes line the streets, and thecity is home to more than 20,000 residents.

Graduate programs are offered at both the Milledgevillecampus and the Georgia College Macon Center for Graduateand Professional Learning in downtown Macon, located ap-proximately 50 kilometers southwest of Milledgeville.

Central Georgia has a mild climate with four distinct seasons.

The average summer temperature is 29 degrees Celsius,while the average winter temperature is 6 degrees Celsius.Students enjoy outdoor activities year-round with the abun-dant sunshine and comfortable temperatures.

As Georgia’s Public Liberal Arts University we’re dedicated to excellence in teaching and exuberance for

learning. That’s why we offer 48 undergraduate programs that range from the more practical to the highly theoretical, as well

as more than 30 graduate programs in innovative fields that will lead to life-long success. Our mission is to help you develop

intellectual curiosity and critical thinking, and prepare you for a rewarding career or further graduate study. Our colleges and

programs consistently score high rankings in The Princeton Review and U.S. News and World Report, and over 80 percent of

the faculty have doctorate degrees from some of the world’s best universities. The university is known for the strong support

faculty and staff give students and for the small class sizes, which foster personal interaction and mentorship between faculty

and students. More than 50 different countries are represented on campus and international students are an important part of

the university community. The university is recognized for programs emphasizing learning outside of the classroom, including

study abroad, internships, research, mentorship programs and service learning.

AccreditationGeorgia College is accredited by the Southern Association ofColleges and Schools to award associate, baccalaureate,master's and specialist degrees. The university has program-matic accreditation through the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the National Association ofSchools of Music and many other organizations.

Housing and DiningStudents at Georgia College have a variety of housing op-tions, from suite-style residence halls on main campus to lux-ury apartments at The Village complex on West Campus. Alloffer full amenities, including high-speed Internet connection,safety features and modern fitness and recreational facilities,along with a shuttle system providing easy access to campusand shopping. Dining options are available to please everypalate, from the full-service dining room on main campus to anumber of specialized eateries.

Students can participate in one of seven vibrant ResidentialLearning Communities focused on different themes that con-nect students and faculty advisers to facilitate learning out-side the classroom. Many international and U.S. studentschoose to live in the Casa Mondo community, which bringsstudents from diverse backgrounds together to share theircultures and develop intercultural communication skills.

Student ActivitiesOutside the classroom, students can participate in theatreproductions or chorus ensembles, or join one of more than150 student organizations, including the International Club,which is one of the largest and most active student organiza-tions on campus. Georgia College also offers intramuralsports, intercollegiate sports, clubs, fraternities and sororities,outdoor education and community service programs.

Students spend time at the many recreational facilities, in-cluding the Student Activities Center, and the brand newRecreational and Wellness Center with a natatorium, state-of-the-art cardio and strength training equipment, a climbingwall and massage therapy rooms.

Services for International StudentsThe International Education Center at Georgia College offersnumerous support services for international students from thetime of application to the point of graduation and beyond.Our dedicated staff is prepared to help you make yourtransition to the U.S. classroom and culture and provide the following:• Pre-arrival assistance• Airport pickup• Orientation program• International student advising• Cultural programming

International Student Scholarships, Athletic Scholarshipsand Graduate Assistantships are available, all of which sig-nificantly reduce the cost of attendance.

Application Deadlines: To receive the best consideration foradmission and scholarship assistance, please submit applica-tions for the Fall Semester by April 1 and for Spring Semesterby September 1.
