Key features of our strategic plan and vision are:

To provide an engaging curriculum across Prep to Year 12

    port their child’s learning

To provide varied co-curricular opportunities to students

An emphasis on the quality of teaching

Restructuring systems and processes to allow all teachers

    to strengthen their capacity

The school curriculum will be built around a common and

consistent curriculum at all levels of the school, outlined as

    follows:

Early Years, Reggio Emilia inspired developmental play

    curriculum for P-3

Implementation of the Australian Curriculum across P-10

on literacy, numeracy, Science and History in 2013

    completion of the VCE building

An important aspect of the strategic plan is its emphasis on

continued excellence in educational outcomes and increase

in subject choice. We aim to build on the quality of teaching

by setting up for effective teacher appraisal, targeted whole

    school professional development, professional learning

Teams and goal setting with coaching opportunities.

Ilim College seeks to be seen as school with a strong sense

of community embedded with Islamic values providing a

global curriculum that is essentially Australian, for a diverse

    student body.

The 2008 Melbourne Declaration on Educational

Goals for Young Australians provided for all young

Australians to become successful learner, confi-

dent and creative individuals and active and in-

formed citizens and to be able to relate to and com-

municate across cultures, especially the cultures

    and countries of Asia.

Our strategic and national plans are placed within

this context. The school’s ongoing emphasis on

integrating into the, local, wider and global com-

munity as well as holding true to universal Islamic

values means we will seek to ensure:

    Students understand identity (individual, local,

    global and national)

Be embracing of all cultures and sensitive to all

    faiths

Build cultural understanding and global compe-

tency amongst all students and staff
