“The merciful love of the Lord fills the earth; by the word of the Lord the heavens were made, alleluia” (Psalm 33 (32):5-6)

Happy Mother’s Day! In the Spirit of Easter, we rejoice today with all mothers as we celebrate Mother’s Day. All mothers are a gift and blessing to our families, community and Church. God gave them to us as a gift and blessing. What would we do without our mothers? We owe a great deal to God for our mothers. All mothers are important and special. Today, we pray for all mothers; living and deceased. They are a gift of life to us. Today, we congrat-ulate and thank all mothers, especially ours. [Husbands, please congratulate the mother of your children.] Women are daughters, sisters, spouse and especially they are mothers. They are very important. Congratulations to all of our Holy Family mothers. As the Gospel relates, thank you mothers for keeping a Spirit of Hope in our lives and a love that is seen daily in your faithfulness. Your love, respect and responsibility reflect the “Spirit of the Good Shepherd”. May the Lord continue to bless all the faithful women in our Church with a Spirit of hope, perseverance and prayer. Thanks mothers for being a life-giving child of God. May God bless you always. This week, pray with me as we remember and pray for all mothers who are sick. Happy Mother’s Day! En el Espíritu de la Pascua nos alegramos hoy con todas las madres al celebrar el Dia de las Madres. Todas las Madres son una bendición en nues-tras vidas y nuestra Iglesia. Dios nos las dio como un re-galo y bendición. Que haríamos nosotros sin nuestras ma-dres aquí o en aquellas que están en el cielo. Le debemos mucho a nuestro Dios por nuestras mamas. Hoy oremos por todas las madres vivientes y difuntas. Ellas son y si-guieran siendo un don y regalo en nuestras familias. Feli-cite y agradezca a su mama y todas las madres hoy. Nuestro programa de educación religiosa tiene la necesi-dad de dos catequistas para enseñar el sacramento de la primera reconciliación (o confesión). Esta clase se le en-seña a los niños que tienen de siete a nueve años. Como voluntaria se le pidieran dos (2) horas a la semana para enseñarles esta clase. Tambien tenemos la urgencia de cinco (5) maestros o catequistas para enseñar al grupo de jóvenes del primer y segundo año de Confirmación (la edad es de 13 a 15 años ). Catholic Engaged Encounter is an in-depth, private, personal, marriage preparation experience within the context of the Catholic faith and values. The retreat is open to any couples who are engaged, considering engagement and wanting to prepare for a deeper, more meaningful life together with the belief that marriage is between a man and a woman and to be recognized by the Catholic Church. Catholic Engaged Encounter is a non-recreational retreat and a beautiful program designed to give each couple an opportunity to discuss honestly with each other, in a face-to-face manner, their strengths and weaknesses, desires, ambitions, goals, their attitudes about money, sex, family, spiritu-al values and their role in society. In 1992, Pope John Paul, II proclaimed Catholic Engaged Encounter as a Vatican approved marriage preparation program and the program fulfills the requirements for immediate preparation for marriage in the Catholic Church as prescribed by the Diocese of Stockton.
