Taking Care of Our Homeless NeighborsDuring the COVID-19 pandemic, we remain committed to bringing critically needed resources to our most vulnerable, at-risk community members. The City has worked quickly to protect and preserve the health of our neighbors experiencing homelessness by rolling out a variety of services to prevent and reduce the spread of the virus.

The housing department has placed handwashing stations in high-need locations across the city and partnered with The Shower of Hope to provide free showers and hygiene supplies three days a week to people experiencing homelessness.

Additionally, the Pasadena Outreach Response Team (PORT) and Homeless Outreach Psychiatric Evaluation (HOPE) Team have distributed hygiene kits containing essential supplies to promote healthy hygiene and disease prevention, including alcohol wipes, hand sanitizer and face coverings. These hygiene kits also contain information on resources and services available within the community.

More information regarding homeless outreach and supportive services is available at PasadenaPartnership.org/COVID-19.

Summer Watering Schedule in Effect PWP wants to remind you that the summer watering schedule is in effect:• Outdoor watering is limited to Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from April 1-October 31; and watering must occur before 9 a.m. or after 6 p.m. Visit PWPweb.com/WateringSchedule to learn more.

Did You Know?Converting spray sprinklers to drip is a great way to prevent overspray and save water. Right now, PWP is offering FREE Spray-to-Drip Retrofit Kits to single-family residential customers. Kits are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Apply now at PWPweb.com/Spray2Drip.

PLANNING DEPARTMENT TO HOST Virtual Open Houses for All Eight Specific PlansIn effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 while continuing to engage the community, the City of Pasadena Planning & Community Development Department will hold virtual open houses for its program Our Pasadena—Putting the Plan in Motion starting in July.

During the virtual open houses, community members will have an opportunity to explore interactive stations with information on potential development standards for new commercial and residential projects located along Pasadena’s major commercial and mixed-use corridors, including Colorado Boulevard, Foothill Boulevard, Lincoln Avenue, Fair Oaks Avenue, and Lake Avenue. A total of eight virtual open houses will be held, one for each of Pasadena’s Specific Plan areas, providing an opportunity for the community to review the draft standards and submit comments online. Community feedback will help shape the proposed Specific Plans that will be presented to the Planning Commission for their review and consideration starting early next year.

Visit OurPasadena.org for more information and to sign up for news related to the upcoming open houses.

Pasadena’s New Permitting SystemThe City has launched a new and improved permitting system. The new system, called Energov, replaced the previous Tidemark system that was utilized since 2001. Energov offers the ability to get current permit information throughout the plan check and inspection process, schedule inspections, and make payments. Customers are now also able to receive a confirmation of their building inspection appointment via phone, text and email. This is the first phase of a project to develop a virtual permit center. The second phase of the project, expected to be completed in 2021, will give customers the ability to submit permit applications online. Visit CityOfPasadena.net/PermitCenterOnline for additional information, including video tutorials of new features.
