TNT Weekly Update! Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (518) 438-3583 August 9, 2013 Fundraising Update & Housekeeping Fundraising Tip! Our fall season team is still moving the needle with a fundraising total of $22,015 this week! Disney is continuing to raise more and more, with $5,360 in the bank! Just a reminder that Peak Season recommitment paperwork is due August 15 th . Adirondack ½ Marathon paperwork is out and due back on Friday, August 23 rd . If anyone would like winter season brochures to display anywhere in the community, please let me know! **Congratulations to Karen McIntyre who completed the Fronhofer Tool Triathlon last weekend! Thank you Karen for being part of not one but TWO events this season! You rock!!! Think about things that are already happening. Instead of coming up with an event from scratch, piggy back off of something that is already set up. A great example is sporting events. People always like to buy a square in a pool or bet on certain teams. Travers Weekend at the Saratoga Race Track is approaching very soon. You could do a day at the track or have a pool for one or a few of the races. Football season is just around the corner too! Host a party for the first Sunday of football and sell squares on a certain game. Have people over to the house and have raffles or other ways to make a donation. What’s great about this is people don’t have to be present. Family or friends from around the country can buy a square and still have the chance to support your fundraising efforts from far away! The key to fundraising is to host FUNdraisers that YOU personally enjoy. Put your time and energy into something that you find fun. Sep 4- Crossings of Colonie, 5:30pm (also kick-off!)

Sep 5- Greater Burlington YMCA, 5:30pm (also kick-off!)

Altamont Fairgrounds. 9:30am-12pm. Again, just need volunteers at an info table!

Peak Season and Seagull teammate, Linda Sweeney is looking for used books that are in good condition. She is partnering with Hannaford for an ongoing book sale. They’ll sell whatever she can get stocked! Please contact [email protected] for more info!

Peak Season, and Seagull teammate, Linda Sweeney is holding a raffle for one free night at the Courtyard by Marriot in Middlebury VT, $20 towards a meal at the hotel bistro as well as a $50 gift certificate to Fire and Ice Restaurant. See attached flyer for details.

Capital Region

Sole Sisters, Kate and Charly are hosting a “Party from the Couch” night with MarEle Boutique on Tuesday,

August 13th. You can participate in this fundraiser right through Facebook! Check out the attached flyer for

details. There will be lots of one of a kind accessories for sale and really awesome running bracelets!

*THIS WEEKEND* TNT Detectives - Murder Mystery Event & Luncheon. What: Ride, Run, or Walk to obtain clues and solve a mystery When: Saturday, August 10, Rain or Shine Where: 72 Schodack Drive, Castleton, NY 12033 or participate virtually Why: to raise money for LLS Who: You must deduce Who done it to Whom; with the help of the TNT detectives: Karen McIntyre - Fronhofer Tool Triathlon & Sea Gull Century, Christi Wright - Mt Zion Hike, and Sharon Katz - Sea Gull Century.

Disney Teammate, Alexa Veeder and family, are hosting the 2nd annual Veeder Tree Farm 5k run. The race will be held on 10/20 at 10AM. Registration is $25 in advance and $30 day of. Everyone will receive a medal for finishing! There will be a bonfire, tailgating, music and more! You will also get a special discount on Christmas trees! Marine Corps teammates, Kate & Charly, better known as “Team Sole Sisters” are holding a used shoe-drive.

They will receive $.50 per pound of shoes that they collect. Shoes can be dropped off at the office on Wolf Rd., The Orchard Tavern, the JCC, or Berkshire Bank on Vly road. Or you can bring them to the training run. If your employer will allow you to have a collection box at your office or if you know of anywhere that would take one, let them know. They will deliver and pick-up the boxes! If none of these drop of times or locations work please reach out to Charly. Any questions please contact Charly at [email protected].
