Church Staff Rev. Scott Stancil Pastor Rev. Ricky Stark Minister of Students & Education Rev. Jim Carey, Minister of Music & Senior Adults Carol Petty CDC Director Encourager THE FIRST BAPTIST LYMAN WEEK OF OCTOBER 27, 2010 Greetings! I trust you are well. As I write to you this morning the rain is falling down. What a blessing! I must admit, however, it is making me very sleepy. Our students have just returned from their fall retreat. We had one of our largest groups participate and the testimonies I’m hearing from the students and adults are awesome. God is so faithful. Let me express to Ricky Stark my deepest love and appreciation for his amazing leadership with our students and educational ministries. He pours his life into our students and we are so blessed to have him! This past Sunday we received deacon nominations. Our Deacon Qualifying Team tells me we had forty men nominated. Each of these men will be receiving an invitation to attend the Deacon Ministry Workshop to learn more about the qualifications and responsibilities of serving in our church. Pray for these men as they consider the Lord’s will in this matter. Pray also for the Deacon Qualifying Team as they lead in this process. This Sunday morning we continue our MYTHBUSTERS series. This week we’ll be discussing myths about the church and her purpose. On Sunday evenings we’re studying 1 Timothy. I hope you’ll join us! Lastly, let me invite you to join us in sanctuary at 9:30AM each Sunday morning to pray over our service. It’s a brief time, but very important. Hope to see you soon! I love you!
