WMU Associational Meeting

March 18th—ten mission minded ladies met for our monthly associational meeting. We started roll call with our favorite book outside of the Bible. Several books were mentioned that are worth men-tioning and would be good for all of us to read. Mentioned were “I am a Church Member”, “A Pur-pose Driven Life”, “Heaven is Real”, “In His Steps” and “Heaven”. I would encourage all to read at least one of these books in the next few months. Evelyn Trickel gave a talk with a power point slide show on her mission trip last year to Prague,

Kosovo and especially the town of Peja, where her son Richard and his wife Sharon Brummitt were doing mission work. They were involved in witnessing, teaching English, and other outreach projects in a predomi-nantly Muslim area. There were many prayer needs mentioned. Please keep in prayer the church plant, “The Cowboy Church” in Jamesport, the Child Rescue work around the world, Diann Barnes and BSU, Iowa Mission, and mission work throughout the world. Virginia Crumpacker gave a devotional around the Good Samaratin parable in Luke 10:25-37. Luke 10:27- “You shall love the Lord Your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all you mind; and your neighbor as yourself”. How do we show love to the unlovable? April 4-5 several of the ladies will be attending the State WMU meeting to be held in Springfield. The Next meeting will be April 15 at 10:30 am at the association office.

“Every prudent man acts with knowledge, but a fool lays open his folly.” Proverbs 13:16 Most of us have had some fun with April fool’s day, but in all seriousness, it is not good to actu-ally act foolishly. It is my desire that we act in prudence and wisdom. I pray that we each not act like...

Edinburg- The church held revival services March 16-19 with good turnout each evening. Spring is just around the corner and so is Easter.

We are working toward our goal of $1,000.00 for our Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. The children’s church kids are even collecting pennies for Annie to add to the church offering. This is to help involve children in the mission project and help them to understand the importance of missions.

We will be having an Easter breakfast the Saturday before Easter and regular services on Easter Sun-day. Our church services are on Sunday morning, Sunday school at 10 am, with Sunday service at 11 am. We have Sunday evening service at 6 pm and Wednesday service at 7 pm. We invite you to worship with us.

Our attendance for February was Sunday School– 29; Morning Worship 49; Evening Worship– 23 and Wednesday– 14.

Medicine Valley- The most significant development in our present ministries involves an Adult Bible Study to begin meeting in our home in Humphreys in early April.

This will be a series of studies dealing directly with basic Bible Doctrine, beginning with Genesis and a focus on the Bibli-cal account of creation.

We hope with improved weather and the approach of Easter to see some increase in attendance and participation in Sunday Services at Newtown.

The food pantry ministry continues to expand. In February we provided supplemental food to 283 individuals in 103 households. This equals the number of households assisted in December with “Christmas Food Boxes”. This is the high-est number of households assisted in any given month to date.

Celebration Station for children is scheduled to resume in early April. We hope to begin Celebrate Recovery services again in April if there is sufficient interest.

We thank the Lord daily for all those who assist with the food ministry, the children’s ministries, and needed maintenance on buildings and grounds and in so many other ways.

At this point our greatest needs include volunteers in the following areas:

*Workers for a weekly Children’s Program at Humphreys;

*One additional volunteer to assist with Celebration Station at Newtown; and

*Volunteers to do additional maintenance repairs on our properties.

We are presently accepting resumes from individuals to fill a position as a Bi-Vocational assistant at Newtown. The posi-tion would include free use of the parsonage at Newtown and beginning in July a small stipend.

In addition there is a continuing need for additional funding to enable the mission to continue our present ministries, and to develop additional ways to minister to the needs of people throughout our service area.

Above all else we covet the prayer support of those who will ask God’s blessings and guidance for this “Mission in your own backyard”.

BSU @ NCMC As I write this, we are on the eve of taking a team of college students to Kansas City to partner with a brand new church plant known as “Legacy Baptist Church” in Kansas City North, located just south of 152 highway and N. Oak Trafficway. What an exciting time we are looking forward to. “Legacy Baptist” has graciously agreed to provide our students with the opportunity to learn how to

do missions and think with a mission purpose to share their personal story with those God gives us the opportunity to talk with. Pray that our students will begin to recognize when God is giving us those moments to share and interact with people who need to know God’s love. Pray that these 4 days will not be the last, but the beginning of a growing season in each of these student’s lives as they learn to be bold in Jesus’ Love and begin to walk in courage to talk about Jesus. Thank you North Grand River churches for your prayer support for this Spring term. Continue to pray, as we have only 6 more weeks in which to engage students in conversations about their perspective of Jesus and God’s plan for their lives. The semester is quickly coming to an end, and time is preciousPPray, Pray, Pray that we maximize every moment God gives us to promote HIS reputation, and honor Him in every thing He sets us to do. He is Worthy to Receive the Rewards of His Sacrifice—Souls

Princeton- Our youth will be going to Des Moines, Iowa for Winter Jam on March 28th. There is around 30 youth and 8 adults going. Pray for a safe trip. They also went bowling in Chillicothe with 28 youth and 7 adults attending. Everyone had a good time.

Our Easter celebration is scheduled with a Sunrise breakfast following the early services.

We had our fellowship dinner on March 9th. We had 75 attending and a wonderful meal the ladies prepared.

The Men's breakfast has been having several attending since the weather is better.

We are having a baby shower for our Youth Pastor's wife on April 13th beginning at 2 pm at the church.

Salem- In February the teen girls in church, along with teachers, attended the Acquire the Fire conference in KC for a weekend. They also gave their testimony the following Sunday on what they learned and their thoughts about it.

On February 16th the youth of our church prepared and served a Valentines supper to the members, and guest, that evening. They served appetizers, main course, and choice of desserts. The meal was very good and was followed by games they had prepared.

January 26 we had the movie “Facing the Giants”.

March 23rd at 2:30 pm, the church is having a wedding shower for Jessie Hammond and Ethan Tabbert.

April 2nd will be the monthly business meeting at 7:00 pm.

April 12th will be the wedding of Jessie Hammond. and Ethan Tabbert. It will be at the First Assembly of God Church in Trenton at 2:00 pm.

Trenton FBC– Sunday April 27th we will be observing AWANA Sunday during the morning worship service.

The Senior Adults enjoyed their monthly trip to eat at the Galt Café on March 5th. March 17th they had a St. Patrick’s Day dinner at noon, complete with corned beef and cabbage, Irish soda bread and many side dishes. A great time of fellowship was had by all.

Operation Christmas Child is in full swing the year round at FBC. Each month we can contribute a different item.

The Archery Ministry is doing great. It meets at 7:00 pm each Monday evening November through April.

Please pray for our missionaries during these tragic times; especially the Ukraine and others near them.

What is Cooperative Program? The Cooperative Program (CP) is the funding process Southern Baptists have used since 1925 to support missions and evangelism. Through CP, the mission of one church is extended to ministries that reach the lost, hungry, hurting, sick and displaced. In addition, CP is how we support more than 10,500 missionaries around the globe.

How does CP work? CP begins with you — your tithes and offerings to your church. Your church gives a percentage of its annual budget to the Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC), which invests about 60 percent in Missouri missions and ministries, and sends the rest to the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). The SBC uses these Cooperative Program funds to support mis-sions and ministries in North America and around the world.

Why is it important to give through the Cooperative Program? The Cooperative Program is important for several reasons: • It is the fuel for mission efforts in Missouri and around the world. • It enables every giver in every church to make a global impact for Jesus Christ. • By pooling our resources, our giving goes farther and reaches more people. • CP supports Christian education, children’s homes and other ministries in Missouri. • It is biblical Christian stewardship, honoring the priesthood of the believer and the autonomy of the local church. • It keeps 10,500 full-time missionaries in the field. • It comes back to you — in training, events, church planting, and other ministries. • CP changes lives; how could it change yours?
