Serra Board Meeting with Serra USA President, Greg Schwietz, & Regional Director District 10, Don Simoneaux.

USA President, Greg Schwietz, flew in from his home in Omaha, NE, to visit several Serra Club meetings in Texas. Don Simoneaux, Regional Director of District 10, accompanied Greg for meetings at the Serra Houston Club, Serra North Houston Club, Beaumont, Port Arthur and Galveston. Everyone at the North Houston Club board meeting commented how blessed we are to have such a wonderful, dedicated Serra USA President. All the board members had a wonderful time visiting and getting to know our USA President and Texas Regional Director!

Charter Member Serrans Maureen and Larry Bouffard received a 60 Year Anni-versary Blessing from Father Innocent Okhifo, Parochial Vicar, at Christ the Good Shepherd after Mass on Thursday, February 8, 2018. Congratulations Maureen and Larry!!! We love you!!!

February 9th and 10th. Congratulations to St. Mary's Seminary winning the basketball game against Holy Trinity Seminary! Hooray for St. Mary’s! Remember, April 6th will be the Priests versus the Seminarians Basketball Game at Strake Jesuit. We all had so much fun last year! Please plan to attend and support our Priests and Seminarians.

Fr. Skip gave a beautiful talk on Feb. 28

th. Fr. Skip said the Serran’s had a

tremendous influence on him becoming a priest and kept nudging him toward priesthood. He was a convert from faithful protestants. He was elected “Provincial Superior” of the La Salette Missionaries in Hartford, CT, after being Pastor of Mary Queen Church. He then went to Bolivia. Cardinal DiNardo called him and asked him to return to Houston for the position of Director and Minister to Priests of Archdiocese Gal./Houston. Father Skip serves as a “priest for priests” providing spiritual direction, reconciliation, etc. and coordinates days of prayer, annual retreats, etc. for priests. May God bless Father Skip! What a joyful priests! Everyone loved him!
