Holy Angels, pray for us! “Let the little children come to me, and do not forbid them, for such is the Kingdom of Heaven.” Mark 10:4 Sunday, November 3, 2013 Volume 1, Issue 38 Switching places Switching places Switching places Switching places Today’s Gospel lesson teaches us a powerful lesson. It is a wonderful story, but it is a  very scary one if we don’t do what it says! Jesus told a story about a very rich man who lived a very easy life. He  wore fancy clothes, and he had tasty, expensive food on his table every day. Another man, named Lazarus, was so poor that he only  wanted to eat the leftovers. He had sores all over, which the dogs licked! The two men died. After they died, the poor Lazarus began to live a won- derful life with God in heaven. In a way, he became rich! The rich man be- gan to live an awful life, in a place called Hades. He complained about bad pain he felt, and how very hot he felt. Now he was the one who was poor! Do you see how—in a way—the two men switched places? God wants us to always think about our neighbor. How can we help the people around us? How can we be kind to people? How can we make things easier for people  who are so sad? The rich man has a feast while poor The rich man has a feast while poor The rich man has a feast while poor The rich man has a feast while poor Lazarus has nothing to eat! Lazarus has nothing to eat! Lazarus has nothing to eat! Lazarus has nothing to eat!
