ALL AMERICAN LODGE 2003,04,08,09,10,11,12 BPO ELKS 2399
WAPITI WIND September, 2012
Exalted Ruler’s Message: It’s September and our local members
who have been gone for the summer are start-
ing to return. Soon our “Snowbirds” will start
to drift in and have a great time while sup-
porting us! We welcome everyone back and
look forward to a busy winter season.
Have you noticed the great new updates to
the Lodge room bathrooms? Lots of time and
effort was needed to accomplish this transfor-
mation in a timely manner. Thanks to all the
volunteers and especially Craig Wilson for volunteering to personal-
ly, with help, to redo the ladies room. There’s more to come, stay
tuned.
Some dates to remember: September 8, Elks Training, open to all
Elks who want to learn more about how things work internally; Sep-
tember 9, Family Picnic; September 29, Law and Order night. Please
join us for these September events.
The Elks National Foundation (ENF) is the main donor of funds
to Elk Lodges, student scholarships and community involvement for
the B.P.O. Elks. Started in 1928 the ENF now gives back to the
Lodges $1.64 for every dollar received because it is now fully en-
dowed. This is possible through the generosity of Elks all over the
country. Please consider supporting the ENF with an annual tax de-
ductible donation of $10.00 or more. Donations are accepted at the
Lodge office.
Also important is our Lodge’s Move Forward Project to pay off
the last remaining loan on the empty lot. Please consider buying a
$50.00 or $100.00 plaque to support our Lodge. Thanks to those
members who have participated.
I’m happy to hear any constructive suggestions to better our
Lodge and can be reached @ 702-327-4294.
Or email: [email protected]
Hank Thonnard. Exalted Ruler

ROSEBUDS TO MEET
The Rosebud Weight Control Group
will resume meetings on September 5,
2012 and will meet the first and third
Wednesday of each month at 9:00AM.
Any questions? Call Carol Lutgen @
855-6678.
New members are welcome to join this
weight control group.
Hello Elkette Members.
Our next meeting on September 11 @
7:00PM will begin the winter months with
many events scheduled.
Though we did not have meetings in July or
August does not mean that we have not been
busy.
To start with; Kathy Fairbank and Pauline
Thonnard did a great job cleaning out much
of our old paperwork and destroying it by
shredding. I also spent time rearranging and
throwing away broken and worn out items.
My thanks to Eileen Lammes and her crew
for keeping all the pot luck dishes organized
and looking appetizing. Kathy Fairbank,
Sherry Joubert, Kathy Cummins, Jan Ca-
pone, Anne Chiu, Debra Haines and I also
helped with the horse races.
Mark your calendars for the upcoming
events and help with them if asked: Septem-
ber 9, family picnic, October 20, Fashion
Show, chaired by Debra Haines, November
11 one of our new events the 1940’s USO
Dance chaired by Eva Romaines, Eileen
Reed, Gloriann Barton and Doris Perez.
Practices have already started.
It’s not too early to think about our Kids-
Turn-To-Shop event chaired by Kay Wdowi-
ak and me. Think about items you have that
could make a great gift for a child to give to
their siblings, parents, etc. Things like coffee
cups or tools in good condition that you no
longer need make excellent gifts. The kids
are purchasing these items for a nickel, dime
or quarter so small inexpensive items are
good for this event. And yes we need items
for females as well.
Donna Goodine is collecting items for
Sally’s House such as unopened toiletries,
fabric softeners, stamps, envelopes and other
personal items are welcome. Donna will col-
lect the items at our next meeting.
I would like to remind everyone to let Kay
Jedrey know of anyone who is ill, or needs a
little sunshine. She can only brighten a
member’s day if she is notified at 855-6110.
In closing I appreciate everything you all
have done to make me feel more comfortable
and accepted. To all Elkettes I extend an in-
vitation to attend meetings is a win, win situ-
ation especially in meeting new friends or
refreshing the old friends you haven’t seen
for sometime.
Lillian Graham Elkette President.
HELP Youth Activities chair Lue Tidmarsh is in
need of candy for the Friday night city
Halloween street party on October 31,
2012.
The candy is distributed to children partic-
ipating in the Elks booth display game.
The candy with the game attracts children
to the booth where they and their parents
are introduced to the Elks youth activities
and community involvement. Call Lue @
680-9683. Candy should be wrapped and
not any that melts or runs. Drop off all
donations at the lodge office.

House Committee 2nd Tuesday 7:00 PM
