ALL AMERICAN LODGE 2003,04,08,09,10,11,12,13 BPO ELKS 2399 WAPITI WIND April, 2016 Exalted Ruler's Message: April is here and I look forward to the coming year as Exalted Ruler. I wish to express my apprecia- on for the fine job Jackie Tur- coe has done this past year. She has kept the lodge on the right course and I hope to do the same. In the past four years that I have been an officer in our lodge, we have come a long way. We have purchased a lot for approximately $130,000 and spent $80,000 for the concrete parking lot and paid it all off.. The Moving Forward project/ board contributed $50,200 towards this effort and that is one hundred percent you, the members. Addional- ly, the Vagabond RV Club with the approval of the Trustees have installed 12 RV spaces with electricity. We are currently debt-free and that was a lot of hard work from everyone. We should all be very, very proud. The most important issue today is once again the smoking issue. The Trustees have assured me that it will be dealt with this year and in a manner that will sasfy both the non-smokers and the smokers. I will work very hard with them to insure this happens soon. We will connue to move forward and let’s take pride in knowing that our lodge is one of the finest lodges in Elkdom. I will do my best to maintain that image and I thank you for the honor and privilege to serve as your Exalted Ruler. I would also like to thank all of the Officers, Trus- tees, Commiee Chairmen, members, and volunteers who have once again stepped up to the plate to serve our lodge. I welcome any posive suggesons you might have to connue to improve our lodge and keep us moving forward in a posive direcon. Attend Meetings Lodge business is conducted during the official Lodge Meetings and not at the end of the bar. Squelch rumors by getting the facts during a Lodge Meeting, House Committee Meet-ing, or Trustee Meeting. Check the calendar for meeting times.

This is the last time you will hear from me for awhile. Paulette Nainteau is your new Elkette President. I hope you will support her as you have me. She has already started on plans to make next year one of the best. I want to thank every one of you for your support this year and espe-cially my board members Kathy Cummins, Paulette Nainteau, Eddye Glenn, Terry Vodry, Jan Santacroce. I would not have got through the year without Kay Wdowiak, Nita Gervais, Kay Jedrey, Doris Perez, Mary

Roberts Linda Wick and Pauline Thonnard and each of you that chaired an event: Vicky Roberts, Fashion Show; Jan Przysieki, Craft Fair; Eddye Glenn and Terry Vodrey, Kids turn to shop; Kay Wdowiak and Jan Santacroce, Rummage Sale; and Kim Semmens & Rosalie Smith, Crazy Auction; which I might add was a fantastic event, best ever! Thanks to all. It is always a privilege and a difficult job to pick just one member to receive the Elkette of The Year award since so many of you have put in more than 100% in all we do. This year we are honored to have Dianna Bridge putting in that plus and we have chosen her to be our Elkette of the Year. Please thank her for all she has done. There were several choices for Outstanding Elkette and decided Ruth Ulrick filled the bill. Our Honorary Elkette is Wayne Adler. Without being asked he is always there. I hope you have all paid your dues because you are not going to want to miss all the great events planned. I want you to know that I consider all of you as Outstanding Elkettes. And again thank you for your support. Deborah

LODGE CLUB NEWS

Fellow Vagabonds! Well, here it is….a new year begins for the Vagabonds. As we continue to grow, we look forward to hearing your new

ideas and suggestions to make our Club even better. Our recent campout to Boulder City/Lake Mead was a huge success. Mike & Cheryl Lomeli did an outstanding job in planning and organizing this outing. The AVI campout was also a great success. Sue & Bud Thomas with

co-hosts Shirley Salisbury & Don Silver also did a super job in scheduling and organizing their outing. The next outing is the Tri-State Rally in Yuma, AZ. At this time there are 63 rigs from the Vagabonds attending. Kudos to Jim Good-ine for his extraordinary above and beyond job in putting this together. In May the Club heads to Wickenburg hosted by Paul & Barbara Blankenship. We welcome our newest members: Tom & Joyce Brad-ley and Bob & Cindi Myers. We look forward to getting to know you at our meetings and outings. I would like to take this opportunity to let all of you know what a pleasure it has been to serve as Vagabonds Secretary for the last two years. The Vagabonds is a great club and I was privileged to be a part of you. I want to thank Marti Johnson for stepping up and taking over the re-sponsibilities of Secretary. She will do a fabulous job! Our next meeting is scheduled for April 13th at 1:00 p.m. in the Lodge Room. As usual those of you who would like to come for lunch, be there by noon so the staff can accom-modate everyone. As always, remember we are Elks First, Elks Care, Elks Share! Pauline Thonnard Vagabonds Secretary
