Work Packs for 8 th June-29 th June Dear Parents/ Carers, 1. A grid of activities your child can choose from. These include P.E., art, Literacy, science and fun activities that do not rely on too many resources. PLEASE DO NOT WORRY IF YOU CANNOT COMPLETE THEM ALL- they are ideas to help support your children at this strange time! Some of these activities are practical whilst others can be completed on paper or online. 2. A list of Maths activities that will help to maintain your child’s maths skills. They may need your support with these, even if it is only to provide numbers and check answers. Daily 10 maths questions shared on teams each morning. 3. If any children are interested, Into Film have announced they are running a film competition. They would like the children to create a short film and use nature and their surroundings in an engaging and creative way, to capture the calmness and document something they've noticed or appreciated while spending more time in their local area. The film should be 3 minutes or under and can be made using phones, iPads, camera etc. The makers of the winning film will receive a home filmmaking bundle worth £300, and two runners up will get their hands on a year's subscription to Netflix. Start off making a map of your bedroom, think about where the furniture, door and windows are. Can you

Wildlife Photography

Take a photo of wildlife in your local area. Think

carefully about the composition of your photo. Look at the

inspiration.

Cosmic Kids Yoga

Go onto youtube and complete a cosmic kids

yoga.Have a go at designing your

own yoga sequence. Can you design a sequence to

go along with a story?

Plan a partyPlan a party for us to have when we return to

school. Make a list of all the items you will need and present your party plans in a

spreadsheet. Use supermarket websites and other retail websites to cost each item.

Think about everything from the cups, to the food, to the drink, to the entertainment.

Remember to calculate the final total of your party.

Create your own lavalamp

Create your own lavalamp. Fill a jar ¼ with water then fill nearly to the top with vegetable oil. Add a few

drops of food colouring. When the food colouring has mixed with the water add half a fizzy tablet (such as alka seltzer) to the jar. What happens? What is the science behind this? Try and write it up as a science

investigation.

Practise your 7 and 8 times tables

Recall squares of numbers and prime numbers up to 50 (3 squared is 3 x 3=9, a prime number can only be divided by 1 and itself)

Give factors for whole numbers up to 20 e.g 10= 2 x 5 & 1 x 10

Find pairs of numbers that add to 100 e.g. 22 + 78 = 100

Order fractions from smallest to largest and largest to smallest(make sure the denominators so are the same)

e.g.1/6, 3/6, 2/6, 4/6= 1/6, 2/6, 3/6, 4/6

Convert between units of measurement.

Write down 10 lengths in kg and convert to g repeat with litres and millilitres, also convert from g to kg and ml to l

Use doubling and halving to multiply or divide two digit numbers by 4
