This week, I am giving you a selection of activities all linked to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

You do not have to do every activity, but I would like you to try at least one as you have a whole week.

You might just choose a descriptive writing activity and do a really high quality piece of writing to send me!

Dragon Descriptive WritingOn the next slide are two pictures, one of a dragon egg and another of Norbert the dragon after he has hatched out of the egg!

I would like you to look at both these pictures and write a description of the egg and the dragon. Remember to use exciting and ambitious adjectives to describe your dragon! Maybe you could use an online thesaurus!

Design your own wandThere is a link to a document on our class page that has lots of information about the wand cores, materials and lengths linked to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Your task is to read through this carefully and select the core, material and length of your wand and explain to me the reasons that you chose this in a paragraph that justifies your decisions.

As an extra challenge, you might want to persuade me your wand is the best choice! It could even feature on our class page!

Describe the cupboard under the stairs

On the next page will be a picture of the cupboard under the stairs, where poor Harry Potter has to stay when he is living with his Auntie Petunia, Uncle Vernon and cousin Dudley, the wretched Dursleys!

If you choose to complete this activity, I want you to really think about how Harry might feel being cramped up inside there! You might even want to write it from the perspective of Harry, the choice is yours!

Design a new magical device

In the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, there are many magical devices, the invisibility cloak, the time turner and the deluminator to name a few.

I would like you to design a new magical device for the Wizarding World.Will it be something useful and practical? Or will it be something more crazy and strange, that may be more suited to the Weasley twins?On the next slide, I have put a few ideas to help you, but use your imagination and be as adventurous as you like!
