Education Leadership Award to Director NIT Rourkela

The World Education Congress 2016 has conferred Education Leadership Award

to Director, NITR Prof. Sunil Kumar Sarangi in a special function organized in

hotel Taj Land Ends, Mumbai during 23-24 June 2016. The aim of the awards is to

recognize the Best of Best, organized for professional cause and objective at core

is bench marking Educational practices.

conducted another

National Workshop on

Building Institutional

Repositories and Web-

sites/ Blog: DSpace and

WordPress which was

inaugurated by

Honorable Director, Prof.

Sunil Kumar Sarangi on 6th June 2016 followed by welcome speech by Chairman

of the workshop Dr. Bhojaraju Gunjal and further motivational speech by Prof. S.K.

Patra who enlightened the new trends of library professionalism with application of

digitization and web application. In addition to the above, Honorable Director

appreciated the efforts taken by the library staff for implementing the tools and

techniques adopted in library for the archival of documents and showcasing the

same over website. The workshop successfully ended on 10th June with

participation of 46 members from different parts of country.

Mr. Ravi Das - a library staff superannuated on June 30, 2016

Circulation is considered one of most important service for any library which includes issue the documents to

users and return the documents from the same after reading. If user does not return the book on or before due

date, as per library policy, fine is charged from the concerned user. The detail is given below with privileges.

43rd days onwards 10.00

If a book is not returned or settled within 90 days, the library will unilaterally compute the replacement cost along with 90 days fine (Rs.557/-) plus processing charge and claim it from the patron through semester dues or deduction from salary.

Mr. Rabi Kumar Das who has been associated with BPCL since more than

20 years, superannuated on June 30, 2016. BPCL along with NITR bid

farewell at BB Behera auditorium. A special farewell function was also orga-

nized to bid farewell to sincere, dedicated, hardworking, experienced and

kind staff of BPCL. On behalf of all library staff we wish him happy retire-

ment life.

Mr. D. P. Tripathi received Commonwealth Fellowship Award 2016

Mr. Dhanwantari Prakash Tripathi, Assistant Librarian, BPCL has received the prestigious Commonwealth

Fellowship award 2016. He attended the fellowship at University of East London, United Kingdom during

March 01 - May 30, 2016. The fellowship has enabled his professional working skills with digital capabilities

in order to provide better services for the academic fraternity. Mr. Tripathi visited many UK University

Libraries and also some of the very renowned Universities such as Oxford University, Cambridge University,

London School of Economics, University of Greenwich and also some other colleges. He also got an opportu-

nities to meet very experienced and learned working professional in different culture and system.

Dr. Bhojaraju Gunjal received fellowship award from IASSIST (International Association for Social Science

Information Services and Technology) to participate in IASSIST 2016, May 31- June 3, 2016 at NSD - Norwe-

gian Centre for Research Data, Bergen, Norway.

IASSIST is an international organization of professionals working with information technology and data

services to support research and teaching in the social sciences. He also chaired a session during conference

and presented paper titled ‘Research Data Management - A practical approach to overcome challenges to boost

research.
