Our questionnaire showed that our audience is most afraid of zombies/undead with is closely followed by illnesses and death. The fear of the undead has stemmed through popular films such as World War Z and 28 days later along with hit TV shows such as the walking dead and highly popular zombie based video games like the last of us. The fear of illness has originated from recent outbreaks such as Ebola along with common illnesses such as cancer and so forth.

With this question, the majority were frightened of monster and the fear of the unknown. We interlinked both components to conclude that the use of the unknown monstrous beings such as zombies and the mysterious disappearances would play on the fears of our audiences.

The most popular film that our audience watched was World War Z along with Evil Dead (2013) being the second most viewed. When asked upon why they enjoyed world war z they generally replied that the film took a more realistic approach by exploring how the zombie plague had affected social and political structures across the world. This is something to consider when we come to putting together our opening.
