The function is a pedestrian bridge integrated with a path for cycling.

The tripartite bridge extends between Germany and France, constituting a symbol of the close relationship between the two countries.

The extremely shallow arch resulting from the low rise provides tension and elegance to the bridge.

Its asymmetrical supporting structure is based on two arches, one of which is inclined and leaning on the other.

The views of both the river banks are kept intact.

The bridge bearings are located on the banks, keeping the river bed largely untouched.

The bearing structure of the bridge deck is also asymmetrical.

The sparsely applied illumination elements are integrated in the handrail and the base points of the arch.
