Zou Chuanan was born in Xinhua County, Hunan Province, in 1941. He is now member of the Chinese Artists Association, council member of its Hunan Branch and president of the Artists Painting Institute of Loudi region. Zou has developed an interest in painting since his childhood. He had been engaged in the study and creation of meticulous flower-and-bird genre for decades. With a solid mastery of traditional painting theory, he is also keen on assimilating various modern masters. His works displayed a profound cultivation and a sublime style, endowed with the charm of expressionism as well as a command of details which is seldom in its kind of approach. Elevating the Chinese Gongbi flower-and-bird painting to a new level. His paintings were shown and published both in China mainland and countries and regions such as France, India, Japan, the U.S., Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong. His works are collected in the National Museum of China and some art colleges. His book "Techniques of Meticulous Flowers-and-Bird Paintings" is a comprehensive and conclusive summary of his painting experience. "Paintings By Zou Chuanan" has come off press.
