STEWARDSHIP FROM THIS WEEKS GOSPEL

Good stewards have faith in, and givethanks for, an almighty and powerful God who

transcends the universe, but who gives personal attention to every human being. God loves his

creation, his people. He lives in them, and through his Holy Spirit, instills a fundamental

goodness in them.

Franciscan Moment

From Richard Rohr O.F.M., “Eager to Love”.

St. Francis of Assisi was a paradox. He was down to earth but reached for

heaven. He “cut to the essentials” of faith. Francis saw it is one sacred universe, and we are all part of it.

that they may repent.”

Like Francis of Assisi, we praise a God who wants nothing more than to love us and help us. This "Lord

and lover of souls" is kind and gracious, who corrects us "little by little" and "overlooks" our sins

so that we may repent. Indeed, with such a God, we can cry out in today’s

entrance antiphon, "Hurry to help me!" Who wouldn't want the help of so generous and loving a God?

Through a Franciscan Lens

Through the meditations of the Rosary, one recalls the chief mysteries of the Christian

religion," "the mysteries of our Redemption," "the great mysteries of Jesus and His Mother

united in joys, sorrows, and triumphs." Pope Leo XIII

Loving and forgiving are you, O Lord;

Slow to answer, rich in kindness,

Loving and forgiving are you.

On Thanksgiving Day Mass at 10am, you and yourfamily are invited to bring an offering of a brand new can of tuna, meat, soup, fruit or vegetables for the poor to restock our Social Concerns pantry. A special collection will be made that mass.

Don’t forget: baskets each weekend are in the front of the Serra rotunda for your donation to help the poor.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity to those who need help in our parish family!

Zacchaeus said to the Lord,

“Behold, half of my possessions, Lord, I shall give to the poor....”

Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house

because this man too is a descendant of Abraham. For the Son

of Man has come to seek and to save what was lost.”.
