• A team can be defined as a group of individuals who share common aims, goals, standards, and or ambitions, and are prepared to put aside their own needs in favor of those of the group.

• How many make up a team? The ideal team has many similarities to perfect communism and similarly, has a maximum theoretical limit of about 20 but 8 to 10 is probably the maximum for an effective team.

• Much more that this and there probably exists several sub teams, which can number as few as three members. Two people do not a team make; they are a partnership.

• A team is NOT an accidental happening; it needs to be constructed with care. A true team is synergistic because the different personalities involved are complementary and so the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts.
