EPOiPO

We started by co-founding EPOiPO, a food and drinks distribution business with specialty in the value chain sector.

CLOOCI

We created Clooci, a design led business that evolved from product creation to focusing on design and branding.

LTD EDN

We developed a sub-brand business to Clooci, called Love Through Design, that worked with licenses, artists, and designers, to raise money for good causes through design projects.

APPY FOOD & DRINKS From the sales network and initial investment established through EPOiPO, we were able to create Appy.

The licensing contacts generated through Love Through Design, and the convenience of having Clooci to bring our product to life, gave us a head start and the confidence to launch our first product range.

HOW DID THE IDEA OF APPYCOME TOGETHER?

Appy Food & Drinks is a bi-product of various other business ideas which we have developed, and learnt from, over the past 13 years. It is this knowledge that has led us to the concept of Appy. Below, you can see how the Appy brand has evolved into what it is today.

FOUNDER’SSTATEMENT

“Hi, I am Bobby Patel, the proud founder of the award-winning Appy Food & Drinks. The company was established to develop responsible ideas that will revolutionise the way we think about, and consume, food today.

Our ultimate goal is Healthier Generations, and it is our mission to help people by making better products that are accessible to all. Through our portfolio of wellbeing brands, as well as our ongoing commitment to local communities, we are helping to combat food-related health issues worldwide without ever compromising on our values, or product quality and taste.

I strongly believe in people before profit, and this motto echoes throughout our company DNA - from only using all-natural ingredients and ethically grown premium fruits in our goods, through to working with fair trade farmers and zero carbon footprint manufacturers.

We have pledged to continue pushing boundaries and innovating so as to make a real difference within the food and drink industry. I am positive that my team’s dedication and passion will turn us into the Number One choice of brand for future healthier generations.”

Appy Food & Drinks is founded on the principle of ‘people before profit’. This notion is echoed throughout our company, from the products we make, to the customers we serve.

We are committed to supporting communities and encourage them to lead healthier lives through educational programmes that raise awareness for healthy living. These include nutritional workshops, outdoor events, and free e-books full of helpful tips.

Our impact on people does not end there; we also make a positive change by supporting many good causes - from charities in aid of children and the elderly, to those raising awareness for particular illnesses.

We do all this because we care about leaving a legacy that reflects our core principle of influencing the next healthier generations.

OUR PRODUCTION PARTNERS

Appy Food & Drinks have developed the following standards programme which our production partners have agreed to comply with.

Annual factory visits in conjunction with approved bodies SGS and BRC

Our vegetarian and 100% only natural ingredients are sourced from an approved list of well-paid farmers and suppliers.

We only work with suppliers and production houses that use a zero waste policy with a balanced carbon footprint. Manufacturers will comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.

We only work with organic food suppliers that ensure the wellbeing of workers, and high standards of training required are met.

We make sure we look after our workers with the help of Intertek • Child labour: manufacturers will not use a child younger than 15 years old.• Involuntary labours: manufacturers will not use any forced labour.• Non-discrimination: manufacturers will not discriminate in hiring and

employment practices.• Health & Safety: manufacturers will provide employees with a safe and

healthy workplace.• Compensation: manufacturers will comply with all applicable wage and

hour laws and regulations, including those relating to minimum wage, overtime and maximum hours.

OUR INNOVATIONS

Appy Food & Drinks was established to develop ideas that will revolutionise the way we think of food today.

We purposefully and precisely set out objectives to always seek ways to innovate, and not imitate others, in the pursuit of creating a real shift in making healthy products affordable.

We accept that trends in the marketplace should be listened to, but we also believe that it is gospel to concept our own, including:

• The first augmented reality Tetra Pak packaging • The first Stevia ice pop • The first lower sugar pouch drink in the value chain retail

sector

We will keep opening new doors and push new boundaries because we want to innovate the right way; this includes sourcing ingredients correctly, paying for labour fairly, and ensuring we keep nature as it should be along the way.

Driven by our portfolio of wellbeing brands, our products are now sold in numerous retailers across 20+ countries, including major retailers across the UK.

Since the start of the business, we have seen triple digit growth rate and our sales account for 60% of the organisation's revenue.

While other brands are struggling with the shift in consumer attitude towards sugar, our establishment's relative infancy has been working to our brands' advantage.

Our turnover has in fact increased from £350K to over £1.4M in just two years, with a profit increase of 35%. The company's estimated turnover for 2017 is £5.4M and £7.2M for 2018.
