This will be very useful when creating my thriller movie as I can use my knowledge and

understanding to produce a outstanding thriller opening.

• Sense of mystery and enigma – to engage and interest the audience

• Low key lighting: provides anxiety in the atmosphere for tension

• Flash backs promote a sense of time and space disorientation which makes the audience confused

• Music – adds suspense and makes the audience feel a particular way and enables the story to go forward.

• Editing at fast past entices the audience

• Mise en scene: such as props can be used to represent something for example guns represent death

• Men are stereotypically protagonist

• Women are represented stereotypically as victims

• Mirrors are used to represent the darkness within the characters
