Students Academic Standing?
3. Participants of the Study 3 Students all age 9, who are at
the core of the research. Their parent(s). In addition to 25 Random
participants who will complete surveys on the topic.
4. Purpose of the Study The purpose of the study is to note the
impact of parental involvement and if it has positive baring on
failing students. Currently, there is no parental involvement in
regard to these students, education is handled solely by the
teachers and the tutors of the three students. There has been
interest expressed by the students, indicating a need for parental
involvement.
5. Problems Indicating Need for Study. There have been multiple
issues that have arisen to prompt this study. 1. Homework rarely
done 2. Students lack of interest 3. Teacher and Tutor(s)
complaints of parental involvement 4. Parent complaints of they
dont have time and the teachers and tutors help my child. 5.
Student failing 2 or more subjects consistently. 6. Behavioral and
Truancy
6. Plan of Intervention Over an eight week period, I will be
sending homework packets with the three students, to complete with
their parents. These homework packets must be signed off on by the
parents in addition to, the parent assisting the student with the
packet. The packets will contain, math, reading, spelling, biology
and other subjects for the student and the parent to complete
together. Each week a test will be given to see if grades are
improving due to the intervention.
7. Process Sample Sample Week - Monday Homework packet sent

Addition/Subtraction. Wednesday Packet sent home on Science.
