Youngsters from Northfield Academyare toperform the popular rock musical Little Shop of Horrors at the end of the month. About 40 children and young peo- ple will take part in the show, which makes a welcome return after an absence of five years. The musical tells the story of a florist, Seymour Krelborn, who raises a plant, Audrey II, on human blood. Playing the lead roles are Bethany Reid as Audrey, Chris Fraser as Seymour,Sean Innes as Mr Mushnik, Keirah Kirton as Audrey II and Brogan Reid as Orin the Dentist. Jacqui Yule, Principal Teacher of Creative and Expressive Arts at North- field Academy, says the production is the perfect way to mark the return of annual show to the school. “Everyone involved has worked so hard and the pupils are so excited about the performance. “Little Shop of Horrors is such a fantastic show as it’s got great songs and a really exciting storyline. “There is a real buzz about the school as we near the performance and I know that all those taking part will give it their best effort.” Head teacher at Northfield Academy Sue Muncer said: “This is an excellent opportunity for us to showcase the talent and dedication that we have among our pupils. “We are determined that our pupils get as rounded and varied an education as possible, not just within the classroom but also giving them an opportunity to develop social skills and confidence.” Little Shop of Horrors starts Tues- day, February 21 and tickets are available from the school.
