Pupils take to stagefor classic musicalfor clasPUPILS in an Aberdeen schoolare set to experience the sweetsmell of success with theirversion of a classic tale about ahapless florist.

Youngs t e r s f rom Nor t h f i e l dAcademy are to perform the popularrock musical Little Shop of Horrorsat the end of the month.

About 40 children and young peo-ple will take part in the show, whichmakes a welcome return after anabsence of five years.

The musical tells the story of aflorist, Seymour Krelborn, whoraises a plant, Audrey II, on humanblood.

Playing the lead roles are BethanyReid as Audrey, Chris Fraser as

lassic muSeymour, Sean Innes as Mr Mushnik,Keirah Kirton as Audrey II andBrogan Reid as Orin the Dentist.

Jacqui Yule, Principal Teacher ofCreative and Expressive Arts at North-field Academy, says the production is

the perfect way to mark the return ofannual show to the school.

“Everyone involved has worked sohard and the pupils are so excitedabout the performance.

“Little Shop of Horrors is such a

usical, fantastic show as it’s got great songs

and a really exciting storyline.“There is a real buzz about the

school as we near the performanceand I know that all those taking partwill give it their best effort.”

H e a d t e a c h e r a t No r t h f i e l dAcademy Sue Muncer said: “This isan excellent opportunity for us toshowcase the talent and dedicationthat we have among our pupils.

“We are determined that ourpupils get as rounded and varied aneducation as possible, not justwithin the classroom but also givingthem an opportunity to developsocial skills and confidence.”

Little Shop of Horrors starts Tues-day, February 21 and tickets areavailable from the school.
