Who would be the audience for your media product and how did you attract/address the audience? After going on the Pearl&Dean website to check the statistics of certain romantic films I found out that the target audience of our film product would be females aged 15-45+ from upper, working and lower class. to rapresent youth; our film has characters that are both young which will automattically attract teenagers because they might have experienced the same love story as the characters and they will understand the plot better than adults due to how lots of teenagers go through

similar situations.

The age of the female character (16) and male character (17) was chosen on purpose to target teenagers aged 15-19 because they are the ones that can mostly relate and enjoy the story fo our film. The reason the expected audience are females is because the majority of people that are most likely to watch a romantic film are females and we see that in my Pearl&Dean research. Most women/girls enjoy romance more than any other genre such as horror, thriller, comedy etc... However,it could be argued that there still is a small percentage of males in the audience and this is because couples could be watching our media product. That is why, in the Pearl&Dean research we still see a small percentage of males in the audience (usually 20% to 40%) which still contricutes to the final target audience. The fact that there is a male character in our film and he is a gangastar also could attract certain boys/men because they might be interested to watch it. The class of the target audience varies from working class to lower class. The fact that both characters come from different classes show that the audience could also be from different classes and that is why chose the actress to be from a working/ high class family and the actor to be from a lower class family. I think we succedeeat addressing d the right target audience because of the way we used our casting, mise en scene, costumes and props. We portrayed their class through props and mise en scene such as the location (nice house and blocks), costumes and props (with the dress high heels and hadbag and hoodie, trainers, cigarette, litter on the floor etc...). Anyone from any background could watch this film because it is targeted to anyone that is a female aged 15-45+. In terms of race anyone could watch this even though the characters are both bengali, therefore there isn’t ay specific audience of a specific race that we are targeting.
