Element 1: Digital Access "full electronic participation in

society."

Digital access is about making sure everyone has equal opportunities to access the digital world. Technology users need to be aware that not everyone has the same opportunities

when it comes to technology. Digital Citizenship is the starting point of working toward equal digital rights and supporting electronic access.

Element 2: Digital Commerce "electronic buying and selling of

goods."

Digital commerce refers to the world of conducting business electronically over the internet. Purchasing shoes online from an overseas store is an example of digital commerce.

Element 3: Digital Communication "electronic exchange of

information."

Digital communication is key in today's world as we can communicate with friends, family and businesses all over the world effectively. People can keep constant communication with anyone in the world. Communicating with family when they are away and unreachable is an example of digital communication.

Element 4: Digital Literacy "process of teaching and learning

about technology and the use of technology."

learners must be taught to learn anything, anytime, anywhere. Digital literacy refers to the teaching of technology and learning how to use it. Vega learn is a good example of digital literacy because you can access learning units from any location as long as you have an internet connection.

Element 5: Digital Etiquette "electronic standards of conduct or

procedure"

Digital etiquette is how people should behave when using the internet. It is expected that users behave in an appropriate and responsible way when using technology and it is important to teach those who do not have digital etiquette how to behave in an ethical manner.

Element 6: "Digital Law electronic responsibility for actions and

deeds"

Digital law deals with the ethics of technology within a society. There are certain laws that are imposed on users of technology that make sure users do not abuse their privileges and cause harm to other users. It is vital that everyone takes full responsibility for their actions so that we can all perform as one unit and help each other.

Element 7: Digital Rights and Responsibilities "those freedoms

extended to everyone in a digital world."

There is a basic set of rights that extended to every digital citizen and with every right comes a responsibility. It is important that individuals do not abuse their rights online just because they can remain anonymous. It is critical to abide by your rights and take full responsibility for your actions so that we can all maximise our productivity.

Element 8: Digital Health and Wellness "physical and

psychological well-being in a digital technology world."

There are many issues that are caused by repetitive use of technology such as eye strain, repetitive stress syndrome etc. There are also physiological issues that come with extensive

internet usage such as internet addiction which affects one's personal health. It is very important to limit one's internet usage, so that we can all use technology in moderation in

order to maintain one's health and well-being.

Element 9: Digital Security "electronic precautions to guarantee

safety."

In any society there is a need for security. Digital security is there to prevent viruses, data theft, fraud etc. from affecting technology users. As digital citizens we must protect our information from outside forces that might cause harm.

1. Information fluency:

The process involves the following; Ask, Acquire, Analyse, Apply, Assess. Information fluency is the ability to unconsciously interpret large amounts of data in all formats to

extract the essential so that it can be understood clearly.

2. Solution fluency:

Solution fluency is the ability to define the problem and see it clearly, and think critically from multiple perspectives and the ability to visualise possibilities.

3. Creativity fluency:

Identify the desired outcome and criteria.Inspire your creativity with rich sensory information.

Interpolate and connect the dots by searching for patterns within the inspiration that align with your desired outcome and criteria from Identify.

Imagine is the synthesis of Inspire and Interpolate, uniting in the birth of an idea.Inspect the idea against the original criteria and for feasibility.

4. Media fluency:

Media Fluency is about interpreting and leveraging the messages you and your students experience everyday.

5. Collaboration fluency:

Collaboration is about working in a team. Teamwork means power and support and the principle synergy 1 +1 = 3 states that in a team more productivity can be stimulated.
