Facebook hosts publishers’ content on Instant Articles, Apple is pushing out stories through its News app and Snapchat is showcasing media outlets’ videos and articles on its Discover feature.• A new job function is rapidly being

created: the platform relationship specialist.

For example, a fashion promotion agency called Condé Nast International posted an ad:“a job opening for a platform relationships manager to help coordinate and deepen its relationships with social media and video platforms, messaging apps and even hardware manufacturers.”

Video revolution and democracy1. The most recent trend of video is that the cost of producing a video

story and sharing has been reduced dramatically. It has changed the news ecology.

2. In the first wave of online video, people were receivers of video message. They could get video everywhere. That was a huge change itself. Now, each person is a producer of video message. This impact is even bigger.
