Despite the hot and humid temperature andwearing full firefighting gear, firefighters quelled the blaze that began in the garage of the home and burned inbetween the walls. Firefighters climbed onto the roof of the home, just about the hottest place to be. An SUVparked inside the garage was damaged and, although the investigation continues, the total dollar loss has beenpegged at $120,000. The homeowners have been charged with careless storage of a flammable liquid. Luckilyone neighbour who noticed the fire called 911 and another banged on the door to warn the residents. No onewas injured. A barbecue propane tank was removed from the garage by firefighters before it could explode. TheOakville Fire Department is asking that tanks not be stored inside, as they pose a danger to homeowners andfirefighters. Just Plain Folks at Pic-a-DeliOakville’s Pic-a-Deli Restaurant on Fourth

Line, just north of Speers Road, will host the JustPlain Folks tour tomorrow (Thursday) night at 7p.m. Songwriters and performers from across theregion are slated to perform.

There’s a lineup of 49 performances — onemore than the tour had in Washington, D. C., NewYork and Los Angeles.

Local organizers are John Marlatt and StuartGogarty.
