Craig Young, Senior Vice President-Wealth Manage- ment, Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Inc. of Provo Utah, provided a seminar for the financial planning students. Mr. Young provided insights from his career in the financial services industry, and spoke with students and answered questions from his perspective on what it takes to succeed, and where he expected growth opportunities in the industry. The room was full, and the feedback I heard suggested attendees felt like their time was very well spent. Our thanks to Mr. Young and Dr. Nathan Harness, Instructional Associate Professor and TD Ameritrade Director of Financial Planning. FYI, Craig Young is the brother of Tex- as A&M University President, Michael K. Young. Fall Kickoff On Tuesday evening, I attended the annual Ag Eco Aggie REPS Fall Kickoff that is hosted by the Aggie REPS and their advisor Dr. Dusty Menzies, with support from the Undergraduate Office faculty and staff. Congratulations to our 59 students recognized as scholarship recipients. We also send a big thank you to our Sponsors for making this opportunity possible. The event focuses on welcoming our freshman, transfer, and returning students to the Texas A&M University Campus. The event was held in the Bethancourt Ballroom in the MSC. The carnival theme for this years event provided plenty of games, food and opportunities to mix, mingle and network. Ag Eco Honors Lunch At lunchtime on Wednesday I attended the Ag Eco Honors lunch to welcome back the Honors Students and faculty who teach those classes for the semester. The Honors Program continues to grow. Amy Connolly reported that we are now up to 38 students in the honors program. Thank you to the Undergraduate Office faculty and staff for coordinating the activity and to all who participated.
