Those of us who were able to make it to the event enjoyed the food and the opportunity to say thank you to the wonderful people that we get to work with every day. After more than 31 years in this department, I continue to think it is best place I could ever work. Thank you everyone. The Leach Teaching Gardens Fall 2019 Lunch and LearnOn Tuesday, I ate a quick lunch and then walked over to the pavilion in the Leach Teaching Gardens to hear the Gardens Manager and Texas Master Certified Nurserymen, Joseph Johnson present information about rainwater harvesting to a room full of attendees. He provided an interesting discussion of how rainwater is collected and stored at the AgriLife complex buildings and in the gardens, as well as, how it is used to water the gardens and lawns. This monthly Lunch and Learn provides a great opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Gardens while learning various aspects of gardening. AGEC Seminars Series Presentation Today Today, Ze Shen , a doctoral student from our department, will be presenting her research on "Bitcoin Return Volatility Forecasting: A Comparative Study of GARCH Model and Machine Learning Model". Her pre– sentation is scheduled from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm in AGLS 129. It should be an interesting presentation, please attend if you can. Ranch Management University- October 21-24 Texas A&M AgriLife Extension will be conducting the Fall session of Ranch Management University at the O.D. Butler Animal Science Complex on Hwy 60 south of campus. One of the leaders and presenters at this program is our own Dr. David Anderson . This is an award winning 4-day multi-disciplinary workshop that focuses primarily on new and beginning ranchers and farmers, and provides a tremendous amount of information for clientele looking to get started, or make a transition. Financial Planning Career & Education Conference On Thursday and Friday of next week, the Personal Financial Planning Program is holding its 10th annual Financial Planning Career & Education Conference at the Hilton Hotel Conference Center here in College Station. Dr. Nathan Harness, Jeanie Long Izurieta and their team have put together an excellent program with the support of a host of gracious industry sponsors. Activities get underway from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Thursday with a career and interview session, followed by a networking reception and recognition banquet. A full schedule of presentations are scheduled for Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The schedule for the day can be found on the financial planning website at: https://financialplanning.tamu.edu/events/conference/ . Have a great weekend and BTHO Ole Miss.

Bosses’ Day Lunch On Wednesday, department faculty were treated to a special lunch for Bosses’ Day. Those of us who were able to make it to the event enjoyed the food and the opportunity to say thank you to the wonderful people that we get to work with every day.
