Nowadays the water pollution is a worldwide problem; Water pollution means the addition of a substance that has a negative effect on water and the living things that depend on it. These added substances are called pollutants.

There are different activities that affect Water Pollution:

Causes

Agriculture

Animal Manure

Synthetic Fertilizers

Chemical Pesticides

Infiltrates on the ground water

Domestic Waste

Human waste

Detergent, metals and products with toxic chemicals

Industry

Metal such as mercury, coppel, etc. Is trough on the river

Results

Water Pollution

This activities that affect Water pollution, also have other bad consequences:

Lastly, some of the most common illnesses are Water related diseases. The most known of them are:

Natural ecosystem could be affected

By

Thermal PollutionCaused by

Warm water relased from power station

Affect some fishes and algae.

Human Illnesses Caused by Drinking contaminated Water.

Water related Diseases

Disease Transmition Type of disease

Symptoms

Cholera

Drinking contaminated water

Water Based Intestinal infection Dehydration Death

Malaria

The bite of a female mosquito (Anopheles)

Water Bred High temperature Felling Weak Diarrhea Dehydration Death

Bilharzia

The bilharzia snail enter the human body through the feet and put eggs on the bladder

Water Borne Bladder/Kidney Infection

Feel weak Feel Anemic

In these kind of disease, the infants are the most affected because they hadn´t time to build enough levels of immunity. These diseases are most seeing in rural areas because they are developing countries which don´t have adequate hygiene and sanitation conditions. One way of improving this is giving all the people access to safe supplies and improving condition.

Water CycleThe water cycle is the process that describes water’s constant movement from the Earth to the sky. Another name for the process is the hydrologic cycle. “Hydro” means water. The amount of water on Earth remains always about the same. Water constantly changes form, sometimes it’s the liquid, sometimes is solid and other times it’s a gas.

The water cycle consists in 4 main parts:

Evaporation and transpiration Condensation Precipitation Accumulation

Evaporation is when the heat from the sun warms up water and turns it into water vapor. In more scientific terms, evaporation is the change of liquid water into gaseous water. Any water in ponds, lakes, streams, or oceans evaporates.

Water even evaporates from plants. This is called transpiration. Plants, such as trees, lose water out of their leaves after they have absorbed water from the ground. The rate at which water will evaporate or transpire from plants depends on the temperature, wind, and humidity.

Water vapor condenses into the atmosphere to form clouds. Condensation occurs when the temperature of the air declines causing cloud formation. As clouds form, they move from the winds. This causes water vapor to spread out. When the clouds can’t hold all the moisture that has made them, they release the water in the form of precipitation.

Forms of precipitation are rain, hail, snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Precipitation brings the water back to the ground where it originated.

After the precipitation the water is collected or stored back on Earth. A lot of it ends up back in the ocean. Some falls on land in the form of rain or snow. Rain on land may run into streams and rivers and find its way back to the ocean. Some will soak deep into the ground and gather in pockets of groundwater called aquifers. People who get their water from wells are tapping into an aquifer.

Water in ecosystem Freshwater ecosystems are a subset of Earth's aquatic ecosystems. They include lakes and

ponds, rivers, streams and springs, and wetlands. They can be contrasted with marine ecosystems, which have a larger salt content.

All plants and animals need water to survive, but the quantity of waterdepens of the climate.

The rainfalls changes a lot natural vegetation, it grow a lot.

Use of fresh water and water supply Global water comsumption is increasing rapidly.

Increase demand for fresh water, cause: -Water used in home

-Water used for food production

97.5% of all water on Earth is salt water, leaving only 2.5% as fresh water

Nearly 70% of that fresh water is frozen in the icecaps of Antarctica and Greenland; most of them are not acces to human use.

0.007% of all fresh water on earth is accessible for direct human uses. This is the water found in lakes, rivers, reservoirs and those underground sources that are shallow enough to be tapped at an affordable cost.

Causes

Environmentalists complain about increasing signs of pollution in the open ocean, this is because over 75 per cent of marine pollution comes from the land; the rest comes from dumping by ships.

The impacts from some pollutants are immediate and easy to observe, others have a longer-term and more sinister effects. Traces of metals accumulates in living organisms and gradually became more concentrated as they are passed up the food chain, until a point is reached where they begin to seriously affect marine animals

Consecuences

Marine Pollution

The consequences from the oil spillages and other pollution last longest in cold environmental where ecological recovery is slow. Long term consequences are so serious because only slow growth is possible for a short period each year. Besides many animal depend from water and they unfortunately die.

A fishery is an area with an associated fish or aquatic population which is harvested for its commercial value. Fisheries can be wild or farmed. Most of the world's wild fisheries are in the ocean.

Oceans occupy 71 percent of the Earth's surface. They are divided into five major oceans, which in decreasing order of size are: the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, Southern Ocean, and Arctic Ocean. Over 70 percent of the world catch from the sea comes from the Pacific Ocean.

Flooding

Causes

Most times, Floods are formed when big waves are rolled on normally dry places, but also rain can cause floods, when it rains more than the land can handle. Sometimes floods can help

after a hurricane, such as after hurricane Katrina it flooded the neighborhoods in New Orleans.

EffectsFloods can make people drown and die, they can become people with houses in homeless, finally it can destroyed another places really important for us like store, farms, crops and much more.

Droughts

It is a period of dry weather longer of worse than normally expected, it is cause when the wind and the climate patterns are not the same.

Farming areas have many problems whiting this period, this is because there, all the people depend on water, and their vegetables, their animals, and their food depend on it.
