PARENTS & CITIZENS ASSOCIATION REPORT Dear Students, Parents and Care Givers Vincentia High School Parents & Citizens 2019 had the following Committee: • President – Louise Marr • Vice Presidents – Liz Folkard and Nina Santangelo • Secretary – Position Vacant (Jenny Moffat - Caretaker) • Treasurer – Louise Marr • Canteen Coordinator and Treasurer – Jenny Moffat Most of the meetings throughout the year were well attended, which was very pleasing, however we always seem to see the same people attend. Every parent or carer is welcome to attend any meeting. Most meetings are simply information sessions where we receive updates from the Principal and other various Departments regarding current and future events, as well as strategies around the running of the school. Vincentia High School P&C again made some great contributions to both individual students and the school community as a whole this year. These contributions would not have been possible without the tireless efforts commitment of Mary Nelson and her staff in the canteen. Despite increasing challenges from regulators and competition, Mary not only excels and feeding our students and staff with an ever changing and affordable menu, also manages to ensure a considerable contribution from canteen sales is returned back to the school via donations to the P&C. As a committee, we acknowledge students who represent Vincentia High School in sporting and cultural events at State, National and International levels. We continue to assist our School Netball, Triathlon and Mountain Biking Teams, special programs for students in the Support Unit, as well as our school’s incredible Dance Troupes – this is by no means a comprehensive list! As has been the custom for many years, at each term meeting we acknowledge the fabulous members of staff who go above and beyond to contribute to our school and the wellbeing and educational outcomes for our students. Teachers, support and administration staff, are nominated and recognised by way of a hand written thank you card. After the departure of Mr Bates at the end of Term 3, we gave a very warm welcome to Mrs Winfield at our final meeting of the year. We very much look forward to the positive contribution she is looking to make to the school and the broader community in the coming years.
