    THURSDAY, AUGUST 23

    1. OPENING CEREMONY - August 23, 9:00a.m. Orientation Tent Parade of Flags and Fanfare Welcome - Principal Introduction of Mona Mgt. - Principal Entertainment Introduction of the SS&DMs - Director of Student Services & Developmen Greetings - Guild President Learning of University Song - University Chorale Closing Instructions - Chairman

    Students should now proceed to the venues assigned to each hall: I. Irvine Hall - Irvine Halls Dining Room II. Taylor Hall - Taylor Halls Dining Room III. Rex Nettleford Hall - Rex Nettlefords Multipurpose Room IV. Mary Seacole Hall - Social Sciences Lecture Theatre V. AZ Preston Hall - Orientation Tent VI. ABC Hall - Inter Faculty Lecture Theatre VII. Chancellor Hall - Chancellor Halls Dining Room

    2. STUDENTS ARRIVE AT ASSIGNED VENUE

    -10:00a.m. 10:30a.m.

    3. STUDENTS SIGN ATTENDANCE REGISTERS AT ASSIGNED VE- 10:30a.m. 10:45a.m.All students will sign an attendance register and commuters will receivetheir packages

    4. PRESENTATIONS AT ASSIGNED VENUES -10:45a.m. - 12:30p.m.a) Welcome and Introduction to the University Experience Student Services & Development Managerb) Community Living and Public Healthc) Financial Mattersd) Safety & Security

    At each venue the same seminar topics will be covered but not necessarily in thesequence due to availability of presenters.

    5. LUNCH- 12:30-1:30p.m.(Students must return to the assigned venues on time)

    6. TOURS- 1:30p.m. 5:30p.m.

    Students to receive instructions from SS&DM at the assigned venue

    FRIDAY, AUGUST 24

    1. ATTENDANCE REGISTERS- 8:30a.m. 9:00a.m.

    Students to sign attendance registers and receive updates from the SS&DM

    2. PRESENTATIONS AT ASSIGNED VENUES- 9:00a.m. to 10:30a.m.

    a) Managing Relationshipsb) The Registration Process and the Role of Student Administrative Services (SAS)c) Academic & Career Advising

    3. TOURS 10:30a.m. 11:30a.m.

    Students to receive instructions from the SS&DM at the assigned venues

    4. LUNCH- 12:30p.m. 1:30p.m.

    (Students must return to the assigned venues on time)

    5. TOURS- 1:30p.m. 2:30p.m.Students to receive instructions from the SS&DM at the assigned venues

    6. WELCOME RECEPTION AT THE ASSIGNED VENUES- 4:00p.m. 6:00p.m.

    1. REGISTRATION AND FACULTY ORIENTATION- 9:00a.m 4:00p.m.

    2. SPORTS DEPARTMENT FUN AFTERNOON- 4:00p.m. 6:00p.m.Students Union

    Sports Departments afternoon of sports, giveaways and games to introducenew students to the offerings of the Department.

    TUESDAY, AUGUST 28

    1. REGISTRATION AND FACULTY ORIENTATION- 9:00a.m 4:00p.m.

    2. HALL ORIENTATION- 4:30 p.m. 6:30p.m.(SS&DM and Halls Orientation Committee)

    THURSDAY & FRIDAY, AUGUST 30-311. REGISTRATION AND FACULTY ORIENTATION

    - 9:00a.m 4:00p.m.

    SEPTEMBER 1-4

    1. COMPLETION OF ORIENTATION FEEDBACK QUESTIONNAIREvia electronic means- September 1-4 before midnight.

    2. DISTRIBUTION OF FIRST YEAR EXPERIENCE (FYE) SHIRTS- September 6-7, Noon 4:00p.m. Undercroft

    All students who complete the ORIENTATION FEEDBACK QUESTIONNAIREon time will receive a shirt free of cost

    SEPTEMBER 6

    1. MATRICULATION CEREMONY- September 6, 2:15p.m.

    Students must assemble at the Undercroft by 2:15p.m.

    SEPTEMBER 9

    1. WELCOME SERVICE- September 9, 9:00a.m. UWI, Chapel

    FYE shirts and black skirts/trousers to be worn at the service for identification of the first years

    The activities listed above are mandatory.The Guild activities are voluntary.
